I think Eric Jacobson should have been the understudy for Big Bird.
Matt's doing a fantastic job with the bird. But, now that you mention it, I really would like to see Eric's take on Big Bird.
I wish The Muppet Show would have fewer musical numbers and more backstage hijinks.
Yes! That was always my main frustration with the show. The character's interactions and plots were often the best part of the show, but they rarely felt fully fleshed out because the sketches kept cutting in. Sometimes they didn't even close story lines, or they ended in a very rushed manner because there wasn't enough time left in the episode.
If the Muppets ever have another TV show, I hope it's like the backstage portions of The Muppet Show.

100% agree. They had great plots but there was hardly ever more than 90 seconds of backstage stuff at a time. I love TMS, but I wish there was more focus on plot.

Here's some more confessions:
-Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal cracks me up for some reason. Every time I see him I just burst out laughing, maybe because he looks unusual even for a Muppet.
-I actually believed the Veggie Monster rumors when I first heard them, :O.
-I think The Electric Mayhem is a better band than One Direction.
-I used to think the characters from Johnny and The Sprites and Between the Lions were Muppets.
-My friends and I used to take Sesame Street character names and attempt to make them as dirty as possible back when I was a juvenile, rebellious tweenage boy
-I used to laugh every time my teacher mentioned a beaker in science class.
-I called Waldorf and Statler "the two old guys" once before I knew much about them.
-I hate to admit this one, but I chuckled a little when I first saw the infamous Internet meme of Osama bin Laden and Bert when I was 11 years old.
-I smashed a Cookie Monster cookie jar for teh lulz at a get together.
-I called Fraggle Rock Faggle Rock in an attempt to make an immature, juvenile joke to make my 6th Grade school friends laugh (Not technically a Muppet, but I also made Rock Biter from The Never Ending Story's name into an innuendo about Viagra).
-I think Giggles from Happy Tree Friends is prettier than Miss Piggy (Don't tell her that, I don't want to be karate chopped!)
-I had a crush on Miss Mousey when I was a kid (again, don't tell Miss Piggy I said that, lol)
-I've gotten plenty of Muppet song lyrics wrong in the past but the most embarrassing one is a verse from One's on the Way from the Loretta Lynn episode, I misunderstood "the pill may change the world tomorrow" as "the peel" rather than pill. Being the innocent minded child I was, I assumed she was talking about a banana peel and my childhood was ruined when I found out she was really talking about contraception.

-I used to call "Bear in the Big Blue House" Big Blue Bear and the House when I was 2 years old
-I was scared of the Martian Beauty segment from Sesame Street when I was really little (I also felt uneasy about Interplanet Janet from Schoolhouse Rock, probably because of the similarities to the forementioned SS skit)
-I tried to make my beagle into one of the Weigman dogs by putting a shirt on him but he made a cute little "I wuv you!" face at me and after that, I became distracted by his adorableness.
-Almost everyone I know has seen the Crack Master clip thanks to me
-I couldn't draw when I was younger but my first picture I drew when I was in Kindergarten was an adorable attempt at Elmo (not a confession, but still something interesting nonetheless)
-I used to hold the computer mouse and shout "MOUSE IN SPAAAACCCEEE!" quite frequently during my younger years

I prefer Steve Whitmire over Jim Henson because I grew up with him.
Well, I have to agree seeing as he is my fav Muppeteer! I absolutely adore Jim and he is my greatest idol, but I was exposed to Steve before him.

Oh, and for my next confession, I couldn't possibly care less about Muppet Babies or the upcoming reboot. Puppets all the way.
