It was always interesting when the SS muppets would start imagining they were someplace else or in some situation and they imagined hard enough where they were physically there. Some examples.

Cookie Monster imagines he was so called magic touch and turned things into cookies.

There was another one were he imagined he was somewhere surrounded by mounds of cookies and the adults kept calling him and had to imagine himself back on SS.

If you wanna ad more of those that's fine but I also would like to know if anyone here tried to imagine being somewhere and thinking they could actually end up there just like on SS?

I'm sure over the years there must have been plenty of kids who tried to do that and were disappointed when they didn't.

I know this is 2 years old but I thought I'd revive this for those who didn't see this originally.

I'm not sure how to reply to this, considering I probably haven't seen as much Sesame Street as I'd like to admit.

Though speaking from another perspective entirely, I remember watching Muppet Babies as a kid, and the way it was set up, I understood that they were just pretending.

I guess it could be confusing for a kid to see a "real" character appear in a different place just because they imagine it, but imagination is a powerful thing. No, you can't magically teleport from one place to another, but you can pretend. I don't think that's something that need to be explained to kids on a large level.

I was, bit, a long time ago... that was why I started to read and write more in place of acting out things (where everything didn't magically become real like on tv :stick_out_tongue:). Because in my head, stories did have/do have that effect. I guess I always have been more of an inner imagine..r :3

Well you know I still do pretend sometimes, like imagine I'm in a different place or a character in a story I enjoyed. The only difference is I don't do it with dolls anymore, hehe.

one of my favorite moments of sesame street imagination is when big bird imagines the end of luis's book and imagines luis as captain swashbuckle..."and then, the phone rings..."

There was another simmilar CM momment where he and Big Bird were watching the King Minus cartoon and Cookie thought how great it was to have this so called magic touch and he imagines he turns everything into cookies.

First the the garbage basket that's in front of the play area, then the tree just to the left of Hooper's store.

Then Bob and Susan comes by and CM tells them about his magic touch saying everything he touches turns into cookies, accidently touchs them and they are now these big pile of cookies.

David come by and CM keeps telling him to keep away and then BB finally pulls him back to reality.

You know, no matter how hard I use my imagination, I'd never ever get to the level of actually "being" in the place I imagined :? I'm not a Muppet Baby!

*lol* Even when I was little I could never get into 'being' quite like that (outside my head I mean). The nearest I could get was imagining that the things I was thinking of were invisible :excited:
