I wonder if Disney plans to make a vidoe game based on The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made. Of course, it would be interesting if Disney made "The Greatest Muppet Video Game Ever Made" as a tie-in not directly related to the movie. I remember when I heard of The Simpsons Game I wondered if it would have been based on the movie (since the game and the movie came out a few months apart). Of course it wasn't, but I did wonder that (heck, I also wondered, wishfully thinking, if it might have been a home release o The Simpsons arcade game).

I have noticed that in just about every Muppet video game (though I don't know about Muppet Monster Adventure) that the player can choose what level/ stage to play, even if the game has an actual plot. It would be great to have a Muppet video game where the players don't get to choose the order of levels and stages they play.

And I keep thinking that a Muppet Robin Hood game would be great to have.
Cool although I find it a little ironic and coincidental that if they do release a game called ""The Greatest Muppet Video Game Ever Made" it probably WILL be The Greatest Muppet Video Game Ever Made by 100 miles! I still like my idea though about kermit being split up from his friends and reuniting again. This thread isn't all about me though so I like reading other peoples ideas. And these games should be released in a group, as a series and there should be muppeteer tributes in the credits.

I have another idea. Its a music game called "The Muppets: Face the music!" And you can choose from a variety of characters. I'll list the choice:

Kermit.
Animal.
Floyd Pepper.
D.r Teeth.
Janice.
Fozzie.
Piggy.

And as you progress through it you can get powers and new areas and upgrades. You also get bonus characters. I'll list them:

Marvin Suggs.
Bert.
Ernie.
Sam the american eagle.
Digit.
Big Bird.
Whatnots.
Scooter.
Gonzo.
Rowlf.

And as a bonus, when you've completed the game you can unlock the muppet version of Jim Henson. I haven't thought of whether it involves singing, dancing or playing. Please add your suggestions.

Perhaps a better title could be "The Greatest Muppet Video Game Ever! (So Far)". And to add some irony, maybe the first few levels could be really lame on purpose. aybe have one or two levels with 1970s-style videogame graphics and no moving screen (perhaps a character can be in a maze for one level, and in another a character would play a game, like checkers or table tennis, against another character), and then a few levels with 1980s-style graphics and a scroll screen (perhaps, like in Super Mario bros., it could be impossible to move the screen backwards). And then it would get to a much greater plot with comtemporary video game graphics.

Another idea, though not for "trhe greatets...", would be a Muppets Arcade game, in which Bunsen brings a number of classic arcade games to the theater as part of an experiment, whichc auses the Muppets to get trapped inside arcade games. This could lead to a variety of parodies... Though I wodner if the parodies should be made really comical, or if they should just be remakes with Muppet characters replacing the original main characters (much like many of the parodies on Family Guy). My Donkey Kong idea could work for this, though I think I'd rather have Kermit and Piggy in seperate games. Maybe Kermit i n a frogger-like game, and Piggy in a beat 'em up game similar to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Simpsons arcade games.

And then either Gonzo or Scooter can star in a paperboy-like game, Bunsen and Beaker can compete in a video boxing game, Animal can be in his own Pac-Man parody, and it'd be great if Fozzie and Rowlf can get opportunties to play in games. Maybe you could unlock a rerelease of the Pigs in Space game, and the unreleased Miss Piggy's Wedding game.

Cool. We can give it an awesome title like "The Super Muppet Arcadeothon!" or something. I know how to adapt your idea. Bunsen could accidentally transfer the muppets into a video game world and they have to survive there until they can be safely transferred back to the muppet theatre. I've already thought of one good level. I'll list what I think would be best but I'm not trying to take charge of your idea. :

Level one: "Not-so Super Muppeto Bro.s."
In this level Kermit (Mario) and Fozzie (Luigi) suddenly get moustaches and Piggy gets captured by a Donkey-Kong-type character. (Could possibly have funny name like Honkey Kong.)
And Kermit (Mario) and Fozzie (Luigi) have to dodge barrels and hop to it in order to rescue Piggy and continue they're journey.

Level two: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Muppets!"
After saving Piggy D.r Bunsen Honeydew manages to contact the muppets and send them a special formula that should transform them into supermuppets. Kermit and some frogs drink it and transform into Mutants. It turns out its only temporary but until it wares off they use it to they're advantage and fight monsters and ninjas. This level ends when all the villains are defeated.

Level three: "Koozebane Invaders""
I think this might work. The muppets assemble a machine to repel invading Koozebane saucer ships. The machine is piloted by Miss Piggy, Link Hogthrob and D.r Strangepork. When its done something odd happens to Fozzie.....

Level four: "Wockaman!"
In this level some of the muppets are transformed into ghosts, Intent on trapping Fozzie for some reason. Either way this means bad news for fozzie, the ghosts are: Kermit (Green ghost), Miss Piggy (Pink Ghost) Gonzo (Blue Ghost) and Rowlf (Brown Ghost). While Fozzie takes the role of Pacman and as to survive the ghosts while collecting special objects like bananas and rubber chickens maybe. Then if he survives till the end then him and the others transform back to normal.

Level five: "The Muppesons."

In this the muppets are transformed into simpson-esque characters. Kermit is homer. Miss Piggy is marge. Robin is Bart and... I haven't thought up who to be Lisa and Maggie yet... Maybe the daughters from Muppet Christmas Carol. And theres obviously going to be some humerous moments as well. Robin (Bart) has to do a skateboarding bit on the road whilst avoiding obsticles. Kermit (Homer) as to do.....fighting bits? Whilst Piggy (Marge) as to get grocerys in a hurry and get back to the house. The pig that plays Lisa might do a typical piece of Lisa saxophone music and after all the bits are done the family gather on the couch. Then the couch and the house they're in disapear and they are in a blue, blank video-game world again and see Bunsen and Beaker who are happy to announce have fixed the problem and transport the muppets back to the humble muppet theatre.

I like that idea a lot.

I still have the Muppets Inside! 1996 PC CD rom game which had a bunch of stuff like that, like Swedish Chef's Doom(Doom spoof),
a Fozzie missile command spoof, etc.

Id LOVVVE to see some sort of Kingdom Hearts rpg or side scroller Muppet game.

The Game Boy Advance had three different Muppet games(pinball, side scroller spy spoof, and the muppet show)
and I remember(tho I didnt think they were good at all) a
Muppet Show and Bear in the Big Blue House game for Game Boy Color in 2000/2001.

Another type of game can be a treasure hunt game. The Muppets take a vacation to a wild jungle, where they hear about an ancient burried treasure, and after most of them become greedy they split apart to get the treasure for themselves, following clues and gathering things they need in order to get the treasure.

The playable characters would be:
  • Kermit - He is among the least greedy of the characters, mainly being annoyed by how greedy the others are, and decides to find the treasure first in order to try to calm them down... And also to help pay the theaters insurance. he would be able to hop really high, and is the only character able to swim (the others need to find a hidden vehicle that can work underwater as well as above water)
  • Miss Piggy - Of course she'd be motivated by her own greed, and she'd have karate chopping skills.
  • Fozzie - he'd be after the treasure in order to afford a better agent and better writers.
  • Gonzo - He'd be after the treasure to afford more dangerous equipment.
  • Rizzo - Motivated by his own greed.
  • Pepe - also motivated by his own greed.
  • Animal - not really sure if he should be playable or a boss, but he and the rest of the band would be planning to find and share the treasure to finance abig musical tour, only they split up.

Other characters would appear, and would sort of be bosses at certain points. Some would actually help the player, and some would make random appearances without fighting or helping (though something would happen to split up the player and the helper). For the most part the other playable characters would not be bosses, but there'd be times when all of the playable characters would all compete in something, like a glider race or raft race. But bosses would usually escape or be knocked out.

But other characters would be:
  • Crazy Harry - He'd be a boss, who operates a machine which goes in and out of underground tunnels, and he'd have a red ray which moves close to the player, which he could use to blow the player up. The player would need to attack him.
  • Lew Zealand - He'd throw his boomerang fish at you on a long wooden bridge, and you'd have to get to the other side of the bridge and jump on a pole which would cause the bridge to break (kind of like when battling Bowser in Super Mario Bros.).
  • Sweetums - He'd have a club and start hitting you with it, and at tiems he'd pounce on you, and even try to eat you. He'd need to be hit a certain number of times, until he gets knocked out.
  • Scooter - he'd be the least greedy (along with kermit). Find him and he'd actually offer to team up with you, helping until he's unable to help any more. For example, he can push you up to a higher spot, but you wouldn't be able to help him. Or maybe he'd fall into a hole that rocks then fall on and cover up.
  • Sam the Eagle - He'd just want to donate the treasure to the smithsonium. When you find him, he agrees to help lead you, but then a fire suddenly occurs, chasing you and Sam. You two split up, and Sam gets lost.
  • Johnny Fiama and Sal - Johnny wants to open a new casino, and when you find them, you have to fight Sal. This would be inside a cave, and you'd have to pull levers, which make loud sounds. Pulling them enough tiems cause piles of rocks to fall on them.
  • Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker - They'd operate a machine which they use to fight you. You'd have to hit the thing enough times (or pull levers designed to shoot rocks at them). After defeating them, they agree to team up with you, and you get on a special vehicle with them, going down a trail, which eventually explodes and sends you three apart.
  • Rowlf - Not really sure what to do with Rowlf.
  • Beauregard - he'd swing shovels at you in a metal-filled cave. If he misses you when swinging sovels at you and hits a metal pole, it will casue rocks to fall on him. After gettign knocked out, you can take one of his shovels, obviously needed for when the X is found.
  • Statler and Waldorf - they'd be in a hot air balloon, shootign things at you as you ride in a glider. After you land, they would fly over you, dropping anvils on you.
  • Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem - as mentioend earlier, they would want the treasure to finance a musical project (maybe a world tour), and if Animal isn't playable he'd be a boss (perhaps Floyd would appear to give Animal tips). However, the band would split up, and they'd occassionally be seen in the distance, not actually fighting you (for example, Zoot can be seen sleeping on a canoe on the river). Lips would also be part of the band.
  • The Swedish Chef - he'd use cooking tools, and maybe also a gun that squirts hot sauce.

And there'd be groupps of characters that'd be generic Muppet animals, only as bad guys:
  • Tribal Rats - They'd have spears and bows and arrows, and hate non-rats, so they'd help Rizzo (but could easily get destroyed by certain objects), and would try to hurt any other character.
  • Tribal Pigs - Again, they'd be hunters, and would try to kill anybody who isn't Miss Piggy. They'd kidnap some, and try to trap some.
  • Tribal Penguins - they'd set up trasp and try to capture you, and would also throw ninja stars at you.

The game would end with the character you play findign an X and digging... causing you to fall through a big tunnel, until you fall into a cave and finding the treasure. Then the other playable characters would fall into the hole, and then the other characters would (basically they'd all get togetehr at the same time, finding the treasure). There'd be video of them all apologizing for how greedy they'd been and how they treated each other, but then a demon would come out of the treasure box, explaining that he was the "treasure". He'd planted info on the treasure witht eh intent of making them all turn greedy, and wanting to get out of the box. He'd then zap everybody but you frozen, meaning that you'd have to battle it in order to free the others.

Thats a good thought. Glad you agree with me on this because I don't what to spoil your plans. I adapted the levels from the games you mentioned. I got a bit stuck on deciding what game to parody on level 5 though. My other thought would be:

Level 5: "The Return of Not-so Super mario!"

But that was my alternate idea. I feel happier with "The Muppesons".

Ugh. I tried playing that once. To me the Worst Muppet games were that one and (worst of them all) Chaos at the Carnival... the graphics on that one... shudder shudder. Hi Tech expressions had no right to ever make video games. Ever. The Sesame Street ones were okay for what they were... but they just made horrible garbage, like that Tom and Jerry game.

Who would be a better writer than Gags Beazley? He wrote the famous banana sketch! Plus I've come up with a title if you like it:

Muppet Congo Treasure Hunt!

Its basically the same but since its exotic I thought I'd add that, or....:

The Great Muppet Jungle Hunt

Its an idea at least..........
