It would be kind of funny if there was a really weird Muppet game filled with a lot of illogical stuff and featured the characters playing commenting on the oddness of the game. I got the idea for this concept after watchign some Angry Video Game Nerd videos, particilurly the review of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles NES game. Among the stuff pointed out are the various villians who aparantly weren't even on the show, a platform near the ceiling that turtles walk on, which has a hole that you are supposedly supposed to jump over, though the platform is so close that you can't make a good jump and fall when trying.. Yet you can walk over the hole, a high building that the turtles can't get to by jumping from other high buildings but can by jumping from the lowest spot, having Donatello stand on a high platform and be able to beat Rocksteady with his stick when the character is ducking but not standing...

Anyway, a funny idea for a plot for this kind of thing: An earthquack causes the Muppet Theater to fall apart, and everybody except Kermit gets trapped. Kermit has to save the others, and in many cases all it takes to save them is to push/ pull some things out of the way (that they can easily do on their own), and only Kermit rescues other characters (with the rescued ones not even helping or being playable). And the majority of characters who get trapped fall through the trap door of the stage.

After saving the few characters who don't fall down the trap door (and those who fall through the stage are not rescued first), Kermit goes down the trap door, revealing a mine shaft where many characters are trapped. While exploring and saving, Kermit finds a portal to an alternate universe, where he figures everybody he hasn't rescued msut be... And that area is all dark, requiring him to eat Bunsen's latest invention, glow-in-the-dark pills, which only last for a certain amount of time. Kermit gets three to start off with, and finds more inside the dark area.

For most of this game, Kermit does not have to fight any enemies. When Kermit rescues the last character (let's say Scooter), that character has found some interesting type of stone, which he brings to the theater... And then everybody except Kermit suddenly becomes evil, and Kermit instantly figures out that the stone has the power of turning those who have been trapped recently for a long period of time into an evil psycho, and Kermit also knows that Bunsen has invented some special sticks (which are also suddenly found in various areas of the theater) which cure people from being psychotic, and Kermit must turn everybody back to normal.

And at one point, after rescuing Beauregard, Bo manages to repair the theater in no time, but sprinklers in the theater go off, and Kermit as a certain amount of time to get to each sprinkler and turn them off or else the theater would be flooded (it shouldn't really be a problem for Kermit, since he's a frog). Maybe this could be a bonus stage.

Maybe later I can write out some kind of level guide for this idea.

Well, I said I'd post more detailed ideas for the last idea I mentioned, but I have been having trouble thinking of what to add.

But I have thought of another concept: A Muppet game with 20 games, all new to the game. Some would be mini-games, some would have multiple levels and stages, many would be based around recurring sketches, and so on. Heck, a Sesame Street game like that would also be good.

And how about Bear on Patrol game? Fozzie goes downtown to find wanted criminals, and after finding them, Fozzie and the enemies would appear at the police station where Fozzie would suddenly battle the enemey as Link watches. A variety of characters would get in the way (including an octopus and lobster banditos), and the bosses would be portrayed by regular Muppet characters, like Pepe and Sweetums.

Okay, here is my outline for a potential Bear on Patrol game.

Mission 1: The Swedish Chef has kidnapped the town mayor (who in this game is a lobster) so he can cook the mayor, and Patrol Bear must arrest the chef, who throws knives at Patrol Bear, and also fights with a meat leaver and uses an electronic beater. The chickens and talking vegetables try to stop Fozzie (since cooking a lobster means they won't be cooked for at least another day).

Mission 2: The police station has gotten a call because the ELectric Mayhem's concert is so loud that it's disturbing the peace (mainly Sam the Eagle), so Patrol Bear must go to the concert building and arrest them. When he finally makes it to the stage, the band runs to a get-away truck. The following boss level (I changed my mind about the boss battles taking palce at the police station) invovles Fozzie driving the police car ina chase, in which Floyd and Animal throw barrells at the police car from the back of the truck, which Fozzie must dodge (yeah, this is like those chase levels in Spy Muppets).

Mission 3: Lew Zealand has stolen a key from the Psychotic Animal Aquarium and has been letting the psychotic animals loose, and Fozzie must overcome octopuses, flying electric eels, a large jumping whale, lobster banditos, and alligators and must battle Lew Zealand, who throws boomerang fish at Fozzie.

Mission 4: A group of monster gangsters, led by Sweetums, have been smuggling transfat into a town where transfat is banned. Fozzie must arrest the leader, Sweetums, but also outsmart the henchmen, portrayed by Doglion, Timmy, Mean Mama, Boppity, Gloat, Luncheon Counter Monster, and Carl. In addition to shooting, Fozzie can throw barrells at the mosnters to defeat them. The mosnters can also be defeated by tossing enough buckets of transfat into their mouths.

Mission 5: Pepe and Rizzo have also formed their own mafia, and they are setting up a rigged gambling operation. Fozzie must defeat chickens, rats, and penguins in order to get to Rizzo and Pepe. Pepe has a large variety of gadgets (one for each arm).

Here's another great idea:

Muppet Identity Theft

Plot: A group of aliens have kidnapped many of the Muppets and literally stolen their identities. Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Pepe, Rizzo, Bunsen, Beaker, The Swedish Chef, Beauregard, Sweetums, Scooter, Sam the Eagle, Animal, Rowlf, Robin, Clifford, Janice, and Link Hogthrob have all been kidnapped and locked up, and the aliens have transformed into evil clones of the characters, and it's up to Kermit to defeat them and save the real ones.

After rescuing and defeating all of the identifity thieves, an alien manages to become a clone of Kermit, and Kermit must face his evil counterpart. If Kermit gets defeated, you can play as one of the others (and only one of the others) and try to save Kermit.

Okay, here is some additional work on the idea.

The aliens are either invisible beings, glowy dust, or outlines, and they use eye hypnotism spells to put others to sleep and then gain copies of those characters bodies. If defeated, they automatically disintegrate and perrish. The game begins with the Muppets reading a comic story about this, which Kermit thinks is just make believe.

Kermit leaves the room when the aliens show up, put the others to sleep, become copies of their bodies, and then take the original forms to a secret laboratory in an attempt to take over the world. Kermit happens to enter the room before they leave and manages to hide from them until they leave. It's decided that some of the aliens will stay in different areas on teh way between the theater and the laboratory, "just in case somebody finds out".

Each world has four levels. Levels 2 and 4 of each world has a boss, and in later worlds the fourth levels have two bosses. Throughout Kermits' path are energy boosters, and there are diamonds found throughout the game for Kermit to collect.

At the end, once Kermit has defeated all the aliens and saved his friends, the alien ruler, who hasn't taken over a body yet, shows up, puts Kermit to sleep, and takes over a clone of his body. Since Kermit had taken so many energy boosters this makes Kermit's body snatcher a lot more challenging than the others (so if Kermit never takes any energy boosters then the game is over). But the fact that Kermit took energy boosters also allows Kermit to wake up a lot quicker than the others had and therefore Kermit is able to challenge this boss to a battle.

This battle is a big one-level world. Kermit heads give Kermit extra lives. For each life Kermit loses in this battle, the player can choose to play as a different Muppet. depending on how many diamonds have been collected. If no diamonds are collected, then they can only fight as Kermit. If up to 10 are collected, then they can also choose to play as Robin, Fozzie, Scooter, Janice, Bunsen, Beaker, Sam, or Rowlf. If 11-25 are collected then they can also choose between Gonzo, Animal, Link Hogthrob, Pepe, Rizzo, or Beauregard. And if more than 25 are collected than Sweetums and Miss Piggy are also choose-able characters.

If Kermit defeats the ending boss on one try, then when the game is replayed the player can play as any of the Muppets featured in the game (and mayeb also some who didn't appear).

There can be three types of play: easy, challenging, and super hard. The characters modes of fighting changes depending on how the game is played, there are many spikes, and there are less extra lives and power boosters. Choosing super hard means you only get one life, no continues, a significantly small energy bar, and energy boosters are a lot scarcer (one per world).

Wow that was pretty awesome, funny idea (very muppety btw) about the psychotic animal aquarium.

Here are some world outlines I have for the "Identity Theft" game.

World 1:
This world is very similar to the first worlds in most classic Sonic the Hedgehog games. The levels include chickens and penguins whom you must avoid getting hit by. You can also swim in water, but the challenging mode includes spikes a tthe bottom of the river, and in "super hard" mode the spikes shoot at you. The evil clone of Fozzie appears as the level two boss. In easy mode he throws tomados at you, in challenging he throws pies, and in super hard he throws both. Clone-Rowlf is the boss in level four, playing a piano that controls things that can fall on Kermit.

World 2:
A wintery world in which Kermit must avoid evil snowmen and bouncing snowballs, in addition to penguins. Clone-Link is the boss in level 2, shooting a fry gun at you (which you can use temporarily in the next level), while the evil clone of Miss Piggy is the boss in level 4. In easy mode she just karate chops and kicks, in challenging mode she also jumps very high and pounces, and in super hard mode she can spin into the air.

World 3:
Kermit goes through the swamp, having to avoid alligators and evil frogs. In level 2 a clone of Sweetums is the boss. In easy mode it's just a beat 'em up fight (with Sweetums occassionally jumping and body slamming Kermit). In challenging mode he uses a club. In super hard mode he tries to eat Kermit (getting eaten instantly means game over). In the next two levels Kermit swims underwater, having to avoid sharks and octopuses. In level 4 the boss is a clone of Robin, who throws ninja stars at Kermit. The boss battle takes place right next to an opening to a drain pipe, and when the boss is defeated, Kermit gets sucked into the drain, leading to the enxt world.

World 4:
The pipe takes Kermit to the inside of a sewer (and the end of the pipe suddenly closes). You can get in the water but it's too narrow to swim in, but in super hard mode the water is toxic, cauisng Kermit to die if he touches the water. Kermit must find a way out while also battling mutant fish (with arms and legs). In level 2 the boss is a clone of Beauregard. In easy mode he fights with a mop, in challenging mode he throws anvils, and in super hard mode Bo fights with a drill. In level 3 Kermit rides a surf board, until the end when Kermit hits a rock and falls back onto non-water ground. Level 4 begisn with Kermit fighting a clone of Beaker, who has electrical fingers, and the level ends with Kermit battling a clone of Bunsen, riding in a big machine. After defeating him, Kermit finds a ladder and a way out of the sewer.

World 5:
This world take splace in the downtown area of a big city, filled with street crime. In level 2 Kermit must battle the evil clone of Scooter, who throws bricks at Kermit. In level 3 Kermit rides on top of cars, which he must jump onto from car to car, and must avoid slipping off or missing the next car. Then in level 4, Kermit goes into a concert building, where he hears familiar-sounding drumming. He must first battle a clone of Janice, who fights with her guitar, and the level ends with Kermit fighting a clone of Animal, who stops drumming and fights. In easy mode he only fights with his drum sticks. In challening mode he bites and pounces. In super hard mode he does all those things, but also throws his drum set at Kermit.

World 6:
Kermit enters the desert, where he must avoid stampedes of cows and horses, moving cactuses, and hungry hayfields. Cone-Pepe is the boss in level 2, throwing rocks in easy mode, darts in challenging mode, and fireballs in super hard mode. Level 4 starts with an evil clone of Sam as the boss, having the ability to fly and drop things on Kermit (in easy mode he drops eggs, in challenging mdoe he drops bombs, and in super hard mode he drops spiked balls). The level ends with Kermit battling a clone of The Swedish Chef, who fights with a meat clever in easy mode, throws knives in challenging mode, and uses a gun in super hard mode. After defeating him, a gas bomb shoots at Kermit, causing him to fall asleep and be put into a sack by an evil clone of Clifford.

World 7:
Kermit is in a big, amazing pinball-style world, remincient of several Sonic the Hedghehog levels. In level 1 Kermit is jsut locked in a small freezer and must find a way out. In level 2 Kermit must get past a few obstacles before battling the clone of Clifford. Level 3 is like a big maze, with many tubes and such. Level four is a toned-down version, leading to the door where the real versions of the Muppets are. First, you battle an evil clone of Rizzo, who grows when he eats cheese. Then, an evil clone of Gonzo guards this door, and Kermit must battle Gonzo.

Final Boss Battle:
After defeating the evil Gonzo clone, the key flies and falls onto Kermit, who unlocks the door, freeing the Muppets. But then the leader of thsi body snatching race shows up, puts Kermitt o sleep and gains his visual identity. But since Kermit had taken energy boosters he's able to wake up fast, but the energy boosters also make the evil Kermit clone more powerful, and Kermit must battle him.

The battle is in a room with limited space. Evil Kermit sits on a floating platform, and can jump-slam, fight with a chainsaw, throw bombs and fireballs, bite (yes even though he ahs no teeth), fight with a rake, and shoot pingpong balls. There are floatign blocks which can allow for items to bounce back and hit the clone, and there are three green switches. Setting off all three at a time unlocks a small door, which Kermit can escape into for protection and use controlls to shoot the clone, or move the blocks (or even move one above the clone and then drop it). Kermit can only be inside there for 30 seconds, after which Kermit suddenly gets sucked out and must turn the switches again if he wants back in. Kermit can defeat by jumping on his clone.

Sounds challenging, eh? In easy mode there is no time limit, in challenging mode there's a five minute time limit, and in super challenging mode there is a one minute time limit. When fighting a boss the time goes up instead of down, until it gets to 3 minutes, after which the time goes back down (in super challenging mode it goes back down faster). When you defeat the second levels in worlds 4, 5, and 7 in super challenging mode whatever times you got to when defeating the boss is your time limit in the next levels (due to their already super difficulty).

As mentioned, later worlds include two bosses in level 4. In both cases the time goes up when fighting, and after those defeats the time goes down from where you were when you defeated the first bosses for the rest of the level.

Oh yeah, and I don't think "clone" is the right word, but I don't know what is. These are glowy creatures who put characters to sleep and then get bodies resembling them.

I know! How about a Muppet game similar to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, maybe titled "Honey, I Shrunk the Muppets!" (or "The Incredible Shrinking Muppets").

The game could begin with video of Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy Gonzo, Scooter, and maybe also Pepe, Rizzo, and Animal havingg a discussion backstage at the theater, while on-stage, Bunsen and Beaker are working on a shrink ray. The skrink ray is obviously pointed at the backstage area, and the two scientists accidently and obliviously set off the switch, shrinking the backstage Muppets. Beauregard then shows up to do some sweeping, accidently sweeps up the shrunk Muppets, puts them in a gaerbage bag, and takes out the garbage. And then the Muppets must make it back to the theater and get back to their original height, while avoiding large feet.

The gameplay would be similar to the Beavis and Butthead or Aaaaah! Real Monsters video games, in that all the characters appear at once, but the most playable one can be switched at any time.

Cool, I have no knoledge of the two games you mentioned though so I'm only guessing ehat the gameplay would be like, these game are also mentioning bunsen and beaker a lot, maybe they should have their own game! A spin-off or web-series is always good if it has to do with the muppets.
