    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

I agree with Jjand. And Pooh, you really are over reacting. The Mickey Mouse and Superman dirty jokes date back decades but no one immidiately thinks of those when they think of the characters. Mocking what you love will not take away from it's memory. Can you honestly name any spoof or...

    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

A few comedy spoofs and parodies will never, ever change what The Muppets are remembered for. As I said before there are some very old and very dark and low brow jokes about Superman and Mickey mouse but that's not what we think of when we remember them.

You should you see some of the pre-Muppet show skits. Jim Henson wasn't always wholesome and sweet. He had a dark humour streak, himself. Remember, this is the man who had a dwarf ******* in a lake.

Thank you, Jjand, that's exactly what I was trying to say.

    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

There's a difference between actually damaging a reputation and just being a sense of humour you don't get or like. That's a matter of taste, not ethics, especially when it's not really corrupting anything and certainly not meant for children or shown at a time when children are even awake...

    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

Thank you, Prawncracker. Some people have no real sense of humour. Mocking something and twisting it doesn't change what it really is. What kid doesn't make awful and perverse jokes about their favourite super heroes or cartoon characters. There are some old really dirty jokes about Mickey...

    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

To each their own but I think you're over reacting a bit to some dark humour toward something you grew up with. Sometimes it's good to sit back, relax and make fun of the things you love.

    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

Dark humour is still just humour. There's a reason it's only shown late at night. if you don't like it, don't watch. Don't take offense on behalf of people who aren't offended. When Robot Chicken spoofed Buffy The Vampire Slayer it was Sarah Michelle Gellar herself who provided the voice...

    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

Spoofing something is quite different from outright slandering something. Look at Mel Brooks, he parodies things he likes. Do you think he made Space Balls out of hatred of Star wars? No. He loves it. Things like Robot Chicken take a very, very long time to make. Seth Green only makes fun...

    Goblin Holiday fun

    Happy Thanksgiving

Ah, it's just a little dark humour. Take it in stride. Jim Henson did a very similar joke in The Muppet Family Christmas. He had the sweedish chef want to cook Big Bird but when Big bird was sweet and nice to him he couldn't do it so he decided to cook a vegitarian Christmas dinner instead but...

    Happy Thanksgiving

I don't know why my picture would be offensive. I was just joking. Jim Henson, himself, joked about the muppet gang eating Big Bird at the holidays right in his Fozzy bear's Granny's Christmas special of 1986.

    Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! In our Sad time when the world is paranoid about classic Sesame Street being unfit for children at least we know the cast and characters can still celebrate the holiday. (This picture was given to me by my cousin, Jesse.)...
