    Farscape SCARRAN mask restoration

Hey all, Just updated the site with pics of another original prop restoration project. In this case, the work was fairly subtle (compared to some of the major overhauls required on some past pieces!) but the end result was great and the client loved it. The piece is a "Scarran" mask...

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Restoration!

The Seattle Sci-Fi Museum has a suit from part III. That could be the one you're thinking of. And yeah, it was definitely a little "gruesome" when it arrived! He's in considerably better shape now :) Tom

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Restoration!

Sir Didymus was a really fun character from Labyrinth. If you saw the film, he was the chivalrous fox (with a trusty shaggy dog). I had the honor of restoring one of the original puppet heads of that character some time ago. If you have a look at the Movie Prop Restoration Services section...

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Restoration!

Thanks very much to all for the kind words on this project. :) No, the focus was entirely on rebuilding the original pieces and not creating reproductions. (and frankly, I'm not sure the costume could've survived the process). best regards, Tom

    Yoda puppet in london

That one's been exhibited several times and I'm pretty sure the general understanding is that it's a static reproduction made using some of the original molds and potentially some screen-used costume elements. Looking at the way it's aged over time I'd guess that it's a slip-cast latex piece...

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Restoration!

Thanks James... definitely was a great project to work on! To the JimHensonHour, indeed the owner's a lucky one. I'm just glad I was able to help him get this thing better preserved and displayed with a bit of life :) Tom

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Restoration!

Thanks! Indeed it was an honor to help preserve and display a piece originally made by the creature shop! Just to clarify (as it doesn't look like I can edit the first post), this was a single costume in a private collection... the work was done for a collector who's had the costume for quite...

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Restoration!

Hey all, Not sure exactly what category this fits in, but since this was a Henson creature shop piece, I figured fellow Henson/Muppet fans would enjoy seeing photos and reading about the project. Below you'll find photos of a recent head-to-toe restoration and display project that has...

Original Sir Didymus from Labyrinth restored...

Thanks for the kind words, folks! In terms of "care" this sort of piece should be displayed but not handled much (which probably goes without saying). An acrylic case helps keep dust and fingers away. As long as it's kept from sunlight and harsh temp/humidity swings, it should hold up...

Original film used Landstrider restoration project

Thanks very much for the kind words. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to work on Hoggle (and still would, if they decide they'd like to try something different with the face sculpt). thanks again to everyone who chimed in about the Landstrider. It was such a challenging (and...

BTW- I can't go in and edit the first post but obviously, the Landstrider is no longer the top item in the news section of my site! Please click the "Restoration Services" link on the left side of the homepage and you'll spot him pretty quickly among the other restoration projects shown in...
