Unfortunately for you, the late 80's was the rise of Elmo's stardom.

Muppet fans always tend to forget that. He was different enough as a character at the time, though.
Elmo first started as a background character named Baby Monster in 1979- I'd love to see those appearances included. I'd also love to see Kevin Clash's first appearance as Elmo somewhere on there. I personally have never had a problem with Elmo- I like him just fine.:laugh:
And he does have some memorable sketches and appearances in the late '80s through 1990s and I do want that to be represented. For instance, his appearances with Kermit would be great! (sketches about mailing items and playing a game together, etc.)
And definitely "Elmo's Song"- that's classic.:wisdom::smile:

I would like to see the lost episode with The Wicked Witch in it released somehow, with a warning like the Looney Tunes DVDs.

Definitely agree with this! (Though I don't see the need for a warning- I don't know what was so controversial with it to begin with....)
I'd also love to see that episode of Sesame Street that is still cemented in my brain from childhood that I've still yet to be able to track down- the Street story that started with Telly Monster out in the arbor area with an orange on one of the crates, who leaves it for a minute and returns to find it stolen. (As it turns out, a monster has been going around stealing things on Sesame Street all day- Big Bird is a victim at one point, I believe.) Finally, the villain is caught and gets a talking to from Maria, who explains that taking things without asking is stealing and it's wrong. All you have to do is ask to borrow something and if the person agrees, then all is good.:wisdom:
I'd really love to see this episode that I'm pretty positive aired somewhere in the mid-to-late 1980s.
