There's a great opportunity for bipartisanship. Imagine if Laura Bush and Michelle Obama put out a joint effort to curb the Trump policy of separating children from their parents, called the current administration on this policy lie, and encouraged congress to come together in a piecemeal fashion, rather than one big bill, to deal with immigration. Cut Trumpism out of the process. Cut partisanship out of the process. Cut winning and losing out of the process. Just both parties coming together and making hard compromises for the greater good. I think it could work.

They haven't been able to come up with a compromise immigration bill for the last 20-30 years. What makes you think it'll work now?

That's not entirely accurate. Both parties were very close with part of one when Trump crushed it because it didn't mention his wall. This is now a creation of Trump's own making.

Every president since Reagan, democrat and republican, has wanted to do more on immigration in a compassionate way. Partisan credit etc has gotten in the way until Obama when the republicans became hardliners against anything remotely compassionate. Now we are where we are. Paul Ryan just shelved a bill with bipartisan support that would have fortified the border and freed those children. He balked at it so that his remaining time in office wouldn't draw the ire of Trump and his administration. It's now no longer a republican vs democrat issue. it's a Trump vs everybody issue.

Once again, the Trump White House refuses to recognize pride month. The "best" president for the LGBTQ? His words just don't mean anything.

XXXTentaction is dead.

Some are glad that a rapist ******* got what was coming to him, others are putting him on a pedestal of a tragic hero.

Neither of these are good and showcase how flawed even “normal” human beings can appear to be.
