They don't want the country to fail yet they don't want it's leader to succeed. That's about like saying we don't want our baseball team to lose but we don't want the head coach to succeed. Isn't that a double negative?
Thing is he isn’t a leader. He’s a snake oil salesman.

But I think he does have positions. But they are constantly shifting, if that makes sense. They all depend on who is in his ear the most. And that's why I dont understand the Democrats or Republicans. Why neither side has taken advantage of this weakness. He's so starved to be seen as successful that he will adapt whatever position he thinks will get him there. Heap praise on him and he'll adapt your position. Putin figured it out. North Korea figured it out. Why the Democrats or Republicans can't figure it out I dont know. Just wave some shiny beads in front of him and he'll go with their position.
Lol, I actually agree, neither party has quite got the hang of manipulating Trump. And it truly would be so easy.

I think the thing to remember is that he is not a politician. He is a business man and a negotiater. It may seem like he is swaying back and forth, but that is part of the art of making the best"deals". You give a little and take a little .
He is and has always been a failed, sleazy snake oil salesman. I watched The Apprentice too but that was a fantasy concocted by NBC. He went to reality tv precisely because he was failing at business. And I remember when Trump bad mouthed his loyal co hosts just to put his kids in the positions instead. The man has no concept of loyalty.

I have a feeling his brother was the better man. Not surprised he turned to drinking in such an awful family.

Here is some facts:

Trump has never filed for personal bankruptcy, but his hotel and casino businesses have been declared bankrupt six times between 1991 and 2009 in order to re-negotiate debt with banks and owners of stock and bonds.[169][170] Because the businesses used Chapter 11 bankruptcy, they were allowed to operate while negotiations proceeded. Trump was quoted by Newsweek in 2011 saying, "I do play with the bankruptcy laws – they're very good for me" as a tool for trimming debt.[171][172] The six bankruptcies were the result of over-leveraged hotel and casino businesses in Atlantic City and New York: Trump Taj Mahal (1991), Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino (1992), Plaza Hotel (1992), Trump Castle Hotel and Casino (1992), Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts (2004), and Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009)

Everyone thinks that Bankrupt is a dirty word, but this was in fact a smart business move whenever they had to do it. So I don't see it as him being a bad business person. Just someone who knows where the loop holes are.

A major agree to disagree. The devotion being handed to this man is beyond tragic to me.

Well someone needs to support him, cause no one else seems to. He is not a perfect person, and no one is.
Dude...try empathizing with the people of this world who actually need it. Not some conman profiting off playing at being president (and yes, he is profiting).

And it’s gone way beyond support for his followers. It’s this sick idea that he is their “last hope.” Which is insane.

I try and empathize with everyone, that's why I've said what I've said. If you ask me everybody needs a little bit more understanding towards everyone, and not just the ones they agree with.

Dude...You remember that conman in MTM? This is like if I pointed out to you that he is trying to con the Muppets and you replied, “Everyone needs a little more understanding.” Heh.
