Wow, gosh, glad to hear you're safe, Kev!
Geez....We've gotten hurricanes that cause that kinda damage you described 'round here, but at least we get few days' WARNING! I can't imgine getting a call at 6:00 in the morning, like that....I'm SOO glad to hear you're OK! I hope you get power back, soon! You're gonna have to toss everything from your fridge, though. :frown:

Wow! That storms sounds horrible! I'm amazed I haven't heard anything about it on the news up here in IL. Was it in any way linked to the hurricane that hit Texas a bit ago?
Glad to hear you're ok and hope you get power back soon because I know how annoying (ok, if it's been this long for you I'm sure it's gone way beyond annoying) that can be. Good luck!

Whew!
Glad to hear you're OK Kevin. I've been checking out the 'Appeal's website and WMC's website for updates, pics, video etc. I can't believe this didn't make the national news. One of my best friends was on vacation, with his family, in Florida on Tuesday and got home from the amusement park to get a phone message from his mom that started out "You're house is still standing, the neighborhood looks like a War zone!". He had no idea what she was talking about and couldn't get a call through for hours! I've heard back from most of my people there and it sounds like they all made it with minimal damage so I feel pretty thankfull. I hope you get your own power back on soon.

As of Sunday afternoon about 103,000 people were still without power. My hearts go out to them.

Nate's got 'hearts.' Full o' love, dat boy is!

Well, gang, we have power at work. I can't type much because we're WAY backed up (it's an insurance office).

Info, pics and video can be found below:

Now that the trees are coming down, you can see the devastation!! There are hardly any sidewalks anymore that aren't covered with dead trees.

My apt complex STILL has no electricity, but I'm okay. I've a friend with connections to the Casinos in Tunica, MS, so we get a free suite and a free nightly buffet for the past week, and tonight we're making use of another connection with a different casino. I'm not suffering, just missing my home!!

I've seen people who are half dead from the heat, and all the people I know who are old are okay at least. I really wish they could all be okay.

It may not be this week that full power will be restored to enough folks, but there are others who, despite the fact that utilities crews are working 16 hour days with no rest--and even some crews hired in from other cities--they complain that they aren't doing their job. They should get their lights on LASTLY!!!

Oops, I just danged myself--I won't get utilities until WAY late now! :embarrassed:
