I've been wondering about this for quite some time, so I thought I'd be smart and bring it up. Do the Honkers on Sesame ACTUALLY honk, or is it any special sound track insert.

I think they actually did have bicycle horns built into their nose and ears. I know that the "dinger" had a small bellhop's bell on his head so I don't know why they wouldn't do it that way.

It doesn't make sense that the honkers honk.

Going out of the way to mic a bike horn in a puppet is a lot harder than
just putting it into the final mix. Especially today where almost every sound
effect on a pre recorded television show is put in later on.

(Notice I said sound effect.)

The Honker puppets don't actually honk. It's added later.

However, the Honker costumes (used in Sesame Street Live) actually DO honk.

So there you go....
