Hey all,
First off, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Eric and I live in northern California. I am just entering the world of puppetry and have spent many hours reading through the forums here and associated links. I have been making latex masks and various props for a few years and am now switching gears to puppetry. I figure my sculpting, molding, amd latex work should carry over well. I have links to pics of some of my work, but probably cant post here until my post count increases, so if anyone would like to help out, let me know and I'll PM/email them over.
Although I have just ordered the glorified sock pattern to get me rolling, I have several projects I am anxious to try out. Unfortunately I don't know how to sew, so thats my first challenge.
There is one puppet from Sesame street I'd like to take a crack at. It's the 'Yip-Yip' martian(s). I have links to pics and video which I can, once again, provide to someone to post for me. The mouth movement seems like a mechanism operates it from below, but it's hard to tell how the internals work. If anyone could shed some light on the best way to go about what type of materials and an explanation, or guess, of the mouth mechanism, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
