Does anyone have a good technique for greying fake fur. I have some 4-inch fur in both white and red, and I want to have it look like Red hair that's turning white (salt and peppery).

Would it be better to use the white hair and add red somehow or start with the red and add white?

I know from years of theater, that you can put grey into real hair using white tempory hairspray brushed on with a toothbrush. Is there a more permanent way to get a similar effect?

Watered down acrylic paint will work. There should be some old threads here about methods for putting colour streaks in hair if you do some searching.
