You know... It's a shame they're going ahead with plans for a Mr. Peabody movie... Cause we've already got jaded reactions from Underdog to then groan at the coming of another in the same vein, at least those of us who are in the original cartoon camp. Come on, a talking dog and boy movie? Didn't they release that last year? Oh, it was Underdog... Then why is this so eerily familiarly the same movie?

Of course, for those who are looking forward to the movie treatment, I only hope you enjoy it and it stands up to your expectations as I wouldn't want to ruin such an experience like that for anyone. Let the movie fulfill your criteria or not, that's for each person to decide.

I personally don't have much against it, but not much for it, either. But whether I see it or not, I still think the line, "give the dog your food" is HILARIOUS--mainly 'cause it reminds me of my own dog (silly thing!). :stick_out_tongue: Besides, what we (my family, that is) watch is usually somewhat mutual, like with the Simpsons movie; Happily N'Ever After was an exception (though honestly, I was the only one who enjoyed it).

.

But mercifully it will ALL be CGI, and not like Underdog at all. if they do it in a straight forward animated feature, just with CGI. it could work. But then again My dream of an ALL 2-D animated Bullwinkle Movie splint into 4 parts interspearced with Fractured Fairy tales, Mr. Peabody and Dudley Do-Right cartoons is just that. A dream.

I like Underdog, but was on the fence about the film...until Disney wore out its welcome with the blitz of non-stop ads everywhere. If only they'd give the Muppets 1/100th of this exposure. Underdog...I'll catch it on the Disney Channel next year. By then I might want to see it. :sympathy:

Wish it were CG. Really do.

True, true. A lot of films are like this: fine and dandy until commercialism takes over, and this especially goes for animated or licensed movies. After all, kids like free stuff, and what better way to promote the movie than to make products based on it?

And it does get annoying after a while (Pixar's Cars is a good example of this.) And since Disney loves making tons of money, they most likely would--and probably had--start a line of movie-based merchandise.

Wish it were CG. Really do.
Now that you said it, it would be a good idea if they did that. It might make Underdog more recognizeable than his live-action beagle/bloodhound/designer dog/etc. form.

Off-topic: Speaking of Alvin and the Chipmunks, I saw a poster advertising the new live-action movie, and while I don't mind the guy (Dave?) being human, seeing the cute anthro-kids dress up all "hip-hop and urban" creeps me out... :embarrassed: Oh, and I'd like to see that new Bratz movie crash and burn.
