What was the difference again between standard and vent style puppets?
Vent Style tends to have the entrance in the head. This makes it easier for a ventriloquist to perform with their puppet out in the open. Not so easy if you want it on a stage since your hand kind of shows....however on the Ernie puppet we've found that you can slide your hand up his shirt and it works okay.
