Made a new one!

so my friend asked me to make them a puppet for their new niece that was just born (word around school has spread that I'm making these guys)

but I think this is going to be my last work for free. So in the interest of of entrepeneurish high schooler, how much would this guy fetch on ebay?

He's made of out of the higher strength polyfoam, covered in black fur and blue dyed antron fleece. His eyes are made of ping pong balls, and his nose is made using the "typical" method.

Comments and suggestions are welcome - once again, I think I want to elevate this craft to the next level.

yea all my friends are in love with these puppets so they all ask me to make one for them. Little do they know how many hours are spent... just dying that fleece! Anyway, I think the practice rounds are over so no more favors

So the question is how much should you charge? OH my. Have you seen Andrew's Puppet pricer? You should definitely charge more than $0. But that's only a rough estimate.

I suggest if you're giving them away, use cheaper materials. Your average Joe won't know the difference between Antron fleece and an Old Navy jacket.

I usually end up short changing myself when I try to sell my work, but the key is to be proud and honest enough of your own work to charge a fair price — and be sure to allow for covering the cost of your materials, especially if they are specially ordered materials.

For a puppet like that guy, I would charge $200. There are crappy, mass-produced puppets that go for about that figure. This guy deserves that or more.
