does Walt Disney Imagineering have a school to learn animatronic puppetry?

I heard somewhere on the line that you have to have degrees in engineering and design as well as computer skills. Kinda like they do in the movie business. I always wanted to get into something like that as well, but too much schooling for me. :smile:

WDI is not really a school, and of course they have many divisions. They get most of their people through recruiting, either through college fairs or through existing industry excellence.

In a nutshell, they're a lot more interested in what you can bring to the table right off the bat, rather than what they can groom you for.

Yes. My talks with former Disney employees have always hinted that Disney only takes on seasoned vets. If you're interested in this, you might want to look into the props and production design for film and TV. Animatronic puppetry is a very niche skill and would likely have to be apprenticed into.
