Laszlo, I still think you should sculpt Kira, wings and all! Only you could bring justice to her!

I've already ordered mine, but I did find it about 4 bucks cheaper at this website:

www.cornerstorecomics.com

just a heads up for those still on the fence. I may purchase a few figures from this site too, seems to have a good selection.

(crap just noticed they have the Hoggle/Jareth set for 15 bucks less. . . wish I would have found this one sooner)

At long last

I preordered this figure way back in June of last year.

I just now received an e-mail from BigBadToyStore that Chamberlain is in stock and my preorder is being filled! I had pretty much given up hope, but it's true! It's real! (Not a dream! Not a hoax! Not an imaginary story!)

Chamberlain has been released.

This is the best news I am so excited I ordered mine on ebay last night! :scary: :scary: :scary: This is a great day for all fans of DC and the Skeksis!

Sadly I paid with an e-cheque and live in Australia so it will be a couple of weeks until he arrives. But since I have waited 25 years I guess I can wait two more weeks. I haven't seen any pictures of him loose but here is a link to a picture boxed one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200346451708

I would really love to see photos of him loose and find out what accessories he comes with.

The detail especially on the head is excellent, though it does look a bit dodgy from the waist down.:stick_out_tongue:

Skeksis Chamberlain Figure- In Hand Photos

I just got in the mail the long awaited (at least for fellow fans) Dark Crystal Chamberlain figure from NECA. Overall, it turned out quite nicely. The sculpt of the head, arms and clothing is great and the paint job is quite detailed and it compares very favorably to the prototype. Final paint jobs have been an issue at times with NECA so I was glad that it was not one here.

The lower body concealed below the clothes is not quite as detailed in the paint and sculpt, and the left foot on mine was a tad warped so it required a little bending at first to get the figure to stand properly, but these are fairly minor issues. The figure does not include a base or any accessories, but I am so pleased to finally have an action figure from this film that I can overlook it. I really hope that NECA will sneak a few more I]Dark Crystal[/I] into their line of Reel Toys if they turn out as well as this one.

Here is a link to my post on another forum with attached photos. Enjoy!

hmm, well that doesn't sound encouraging. I guess I'll find out later this week when it arrives.

Got mine today from "entertainment earth". I would agree with the statements above. It is a good detailed figure, the head is spot on, I had no "warped feet" or anything, he stands without a hitch (thankfully so many other NECA figures continue to just fall over). Most of the details are in the clothing, but, yes, it is a bit "dodgy" the further down you go on his front torso. But what more can you expect from an "action figure"?

One things for sure....that wafting smell of paint sure did explode out of the box as soon as I opened it, after taking a deep breath, and seeing some stars and unicorns I managed to breath "thanks Neca". You can always count on a "paint high" every time you open a figure from them.

All in all a fairly good sculpt, that doesn't fall over, and is sprinkled with details here and there, especially on the outer cloak (similar to The Goblin Kings capes/cloaks). I would have loved to have seen him holding his "sword" and in his traditional red cloaks, but perhaps that is an item to come...
