The fans here represent a good portion of the market for these so I don't think we should discard any pricing. I get what you're saying, but I'm certain EFX is trying to keep the SRP as low as possible. And the $700 Doozers aren't representative of the collectors' market. Very, very few Fraggle fans are going to end up with those. They're basically for bored rich people who would senselessly spend that money somewhere else anyway.

Are you an official rep or employee of EFX because it sounds as if you’re doing more advertising than reporting here? I hope that doesn’t offend you, but it’s a little disconcerting. I'm a bit confused. There tends to be less concern for us consumers than the company.
Seems like a lot of sour grapes and sarcasm coming through.you obviously havent taken in everything I said about why MR's prices can no longer be justified and are now a thing of the past.
And if you are disconerted because you think I am advertising, then dont read my posts.you claim intolerance, but constantly slam the rich. Are my reports bothering anybody else? Let me know and I will stop if I see there are enough.

To answer your question, please keep reporting, muppetperson. You clearly have some inside scoop, which keeps me checking in here for updates. I'm not a bored rich person (by ANY means) but I do value my collectibles... and am considering a Doozer, LOL.

So far you've brought much good news. It's hard to please everyone. We all know this

*I did make sure to include in my post that my intention is not to offend. You just seem much more interested in product at any cost.

I've taken all of your posts in and understand the issues of factory production. There's no ambiguity, just confusion about the passion and repetition of reading that particular company line in so many of your posts. No sour grapes here. Makes no sense for me to have them? I'm looking for a context here. I do enjoy some of your posted information and would prefer to know if you're officially connected and or authorized to do so.

Your posts seem like promotions rather than regular forum chat. Are you somehow compensated by them, because on this forum that's a disclosure that should be made. I'm still technically staff here and that's how we do things. If you are involved in the process as an advertiser, retailer or somehow benefiting from EFX it should be noted. Maybe you're just a firm supporter and money's not an issue.

The majority of people here are on a budget! That doesn't mean we won't get these, but not at any cost. And $700 for a somewhat inaccurate Doozer poser is too much. That's not a dig at rich folk, but fans know what a Doozer is supposed to look like and theirs are a little bit wonky in proportion and color. Fraggle Rock is a special sort of brand that's less about such rampant commercialism. Jim Henson was very protective of it. This is a very strange sort of product and quite unfraggley.

There's insensitivity in your posts when people have remarked at the expense. That’s the only intolerance here. Let people voice their concerns about the anticipated price if they choose. It's not like we all haven't heard the reasons countless times, but that doesn't change the fact that many of the MR customers might not be able to afford EFX prices.

Personally, it would be nice if everybody could afford the posers. Whevever I've gotten extras of expensive or blind-boxed Muppet items - I have shared them with Muppet fans here and elsewhere rather than sell them on Ebay or boast about my score. I enjoy the Muppety spirit as much as the Muppety brand. No sarcasm, just trying to figure out why EFX gets more allegiance in your posts than the average income Muppet fan. :sympathy:

Showing a little more compassion to those who can't afford this item would be a good idea rather than reiterating the reasons for the expense. I probably could afford this even at $500+ but it would be financially irresponsible and there's much more Muppety goodness to be had this year.

The thing is – they still haven’t made the announcement! :stick_out_tongue:

No, I am not on Staff at eFX or receive any bonuses. This has been my pet project to get the Muppet Replica line reserected and follow it through.I have said in earlier posts that not everyone will be able to buy these.I certainly know what it is like to want something and not be able to afford it.You say I should give consumers more passion-so what do you want, for the Company to make them cheap than they can make, so you can have it and they go broke too! What annoys me is when someone cant afford something, then instead of just taking it in their stride, they start bad mouthing the company and getting sarcastic and insulting the rich.I am not rich by anymeans, but I do like to have replicas which are very expensive.I budget things around to get the things I want, but there are things that still escape my grasp. All that I ask is that people have a bit more understanding into why these items are expensive and to behave themselves when they arent able to efford something.

Wow, everyone needs to take a breath. Though I never really speak, I just want to say thank you Muppetperson for keeping us well informed. I know from experience that it is very difficult to get a licensed toy line up and running. EFX has been gracious and has done everything they can to keep the price down. $400 is NOT unreasonable for what they are offering. I've seen replicas much less detailed than these go for far more.

Everyone has a voice no matter their income
We know why these new items will be more expensive than we're used to, but that doesn't mean you need to keep telling people here who invested in the MR line yet can't afford the latest extension on the poser line to "take things in stride". That's incredibly condescending and that’s the insult. People here voicing their disappointment shouldn’t be silenced.

Squeaky wheel on staff
This is a fan site, not a marketing blog. Your informational posts are definitely welcome, yet some of them come off as shilling for the EFX organization. I'm not the only member feeling that, but I'm squeaky wheel and usually speak up when something seems amiss. I’d direct that at any member exhibiting such behavior. That’s not to say your posts aren’t a great asset, it just seems as if this is your product being given a hard-sell. You've cleared up the fact of being an enthusiastic supporter rather than an official production insider. I encourage you to be more sensitive to members with financial concerns and not treat them like children who need to "behave themselves". Good frog, that's a terrible way to put things. Wow.

Wealth and the collectibles market :attitude:
I didn't say anything bad about rich people in general. I retract any such sentiment that was derived from what was said. I come from well-off people and understand that all folk come in many varieties. The one I cited is a type of wealthy collector that would purchase a $700 Doozer with inaccuracies most fans would notice. I know wealthy fans that have such money yet will still pass on the over-priced Doozers. In all honesty, if I had that kind of money to burn I’d buy one and have it customized. I deal with collectors of all types in my past and current professions. I have the distinct privilege to work in a shop and help design toys too. I've also been on the inside of how toy products (particularly Muppet products) get made and who exactly the market is for it. I get the process on many fronts. I’m the type of collector who buys things because of personal value rather than a competitive spirit of having something that someone else doesn’t. I really liked that Disney found a way to put Kermit in every US mailbox this Christmas. That’s the sort of thing I believe in here.

Rizzo is the only frill needed
I hope EFX considers maybe making the stand or chair optional in order to keep costs down. It's cool, but not needed. There still has been no release of what the SRP will be whatsoever. It's been promised for many months now, but there's some sort of hold up. Those happen and fans here have been fairly patient. I’m sure if EFX could find a way to make more units at a cheaper price they would do so. :shifty:

Poser supporters’ journey
Much of the fan frustration in this thread comes from the sadness of the MR line closing before Fozzie's release, the campaign for him the line resurrection from EFX only to discover that he's way down the list on development while a lesser-wanted character (Rizzo) and remade character (Kermit) are first and far more expensive than expected. I get it and actually agree with a lot of this configuration, but I also understand why some are unhappy with it.

A wider scope
For some reason the recent flood of Muppet volunteerism ads are making me feel that any extra time and money would be better spend helping others. I have three beautiful posers. I don’t want to skip Rizzo, but even if I can afford him, I’ve decided to put some time, effort and money aside for some sort of charitable cause.

Bottom Line
The Rizzo prototype looks fantastic. He doesn’t need to come with anything except his little rodent self. I hope we hear pricing soon and I hope it’s low. I know he will likely be over $200 and many fans here can’t afford that while I can. That doesn’t mean they should pipe-down. It also doesn’t mean that people who can spend a lot of money on this fabulous Rizzo should be insulted either. This is a fan forum…for all fans. :coy:

And less people like you! You are now on my ignore list.
Fer sure.

I've "misbehavied" by having an inclusive, sensitive and informed opinion on a fan forum where I've provided many hours of graphic work that anyone can enjoy for free.

But you're not really reading this.
