It can be anything: books, records, puppets, etc.
I had a a rubber Bert hand puppet, with the little plastic stick to wave his arm.
Also, the Sesame Street Book of People Places and Things
I've noticed, as many of you probably, the different types of looks for one of my favorite monster muppets. Seems like in the 'frogs don't have hair' skit on youtube, he has more of a beek-like mouth, 'Pick Your Pet' game show skit, it was the B-Day muppet used on the Ed Sullivan show, and on...
On some occasions she was called Lucy Dawn, etc, but did Frank Oz always do the voice for her? I could have sworn others such as Fran Brill did the voice as well. What skits was she even called 'Betty Lou' in because I don't remember.
Well, as many of you may have seen on the home page, come around say, October, after all the requests and legalities to be worked out, we are finally getting our wish: there will be a classic DVD box set of Sesame Street! It took awhile, too long in my view, but it's the best news I've heard all...
I always loved this! Showed an Indian man against a screen making all sorts of animals and other stuff with his hands: dog, bird, a laughing old man, car, horse, and you hear the Indian music in the background. After I would see this, I always would do that at night on the wall near my bed.
It's been awhile since I posted on here, but there are a few classic SS skits I am looking for that I HOPE someone can help me with, as I know newer members join with more trading options. I am looking for these skits, if they exist at all in anyones collection, and I'll be brief.
Kermit...
Here's how I see it:
Kind of cute, but we saw a precursor to the charatcer on the Ed Sullivan Show tape 'Muppets Magic' a great buy for anyone interested in Pre-SS muppet acts. Yes, as mentioned, he was a green color, with very sharp teeth, and Henson did the voice for him, not Frank Oz. This...
As a kid, I always loved claymation, and being that I always enjoyed crafts in grade school, working with clay, at times I would try to copy what I saw on TV.
I'm sure many of you remember these skits with Sammy the Snake and Quincy on the letts 'S' and 'Q'
I remember Paul Simon doing a wonderful ballad, and I don't know the name of it, it goes something like this (pardon me if the lyrics are screwed up, but it's been ages):
'I'd rather be a shadow than a snail
Yes I would, if I could
I surely would,
Hmm Hmm Hmmm
This truly was a great...
It was from Ed Sullivan featuring Kermit and Grover circa 1970 'What Kind Of Fool Am I'. I saw that it was available on DVD. Can someone help? Thank you!
Just wanted to see a picture of these particular skits if anyone has:
'Five people in my family' -I guess circa '69
'4 cheers' (number 4 skit)-This had four Anything Muppets
Kermits Letter 'E' skit with Beautiful day Monster
And feel free to include others that would be interesting to...
Skit opens with the letter 'O' sitting on the trditional brick wall, then a monster, striking resemblence to Manuh-Manuh, comes in and says "O!' folowed by another monster who played Aunt Taminilla on the 'Frog Prince' coming in saying "O" then the other monsters joined in, but don't recall...
I remember these skits with the kids who were pretty much regulars, and wonder what they are up to now being all grown up:
Kermit and his skits with this girl Tracy (there were two of them)
Grover and Jon Jon
Kermit's skit with those two girls: Charla and Fannie
Any others I left out, let...
Early 70s, I always loved this one! Bert shows Ernie, who is already bored with nothing to do, his bottlecap collection. Ernie could care less, and Bert goes on about how he has been trying to find one cap he is missing, the figgy fizz. Ernie later shows Bert what he found on the sidewalk, and...
My mom is a huge fan of hers, and I like her music as well, one of the best. She appeared on the Street around the time I was kind of out growing the show, you can say. Anyone have any favorite skits they remember she was in?
I was wondering who did these voiceovers for some of these cartoon and people skits, one I DO know:
The 'T' skits- I think it was Luis' voice but I'm not sure
Everybody sleeps-song
Big and Little- Two guys leading separate lives, one plays tuba, other plays a fiddle
That 12345678910...
This was a great skit! Boy goes to the local Lost and Found trying to find his lost toy box. After the owner goes through a dozen different boxes, the boy discovers it was in his pocket the whole time. The ending was hilarious as the owner gets frusterated and knocks all the boxes off the...
I originally posted this on Classic SS, but figured this may be a better spot for it. I enjoyed the TV Land awards as always, but can't understand why Jim Henson's stuff wasn't given any credit, such shows like The Muppet Show and Sesame Street are every bit as much an important part of TV...
The Muppet Show was every bit a part of classic television, it was for kids AND for adults. It had a good run, and Jim Henson was a huge part in the development of television throughout the years. There was a lot of history there, and I think the TV Land Awards, though always great to watch...
