    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

Gordon's Hair I really like this one... http://www.sesamestreet.org/video_player?p_p_lifecycle=0&p_p_id=videoPlayer_WAR_sesameportlets4369&p_p_uid=0ae93e1a-1d50-11dd-9f67-ef9c392005af I used to wonder about Gordon when I was little too... I also loved Maria with David in this one.

How are you a Henson-Muppet fan?

One thing about SS is that I appriciate it more than ever now as an adult. Especially the skits that were on before I was born. It wasn't until I read Street Gang that I even knew that two other men played Gordon before Roscoe Orman. Also watching some of those skits from the 70's of Northern...

How are you a Henson-Muppet fan?

Let's just say neither the woman or the entire town was ready for me. Oh those Blue Hill people were so easy. I was a sheltered county kid who never sat foot in Baltimore City unless in was Harbor Place, but they thought I wast from Hard Knocks because I said Baltimore. What I meant was...

How are you a Henson-Muppet fan?

LOL, luckily Barney and the Tellitubbies were after my time. When I was little we had Sesame Street, Mr. Roger's, and Captin Kangaroo. I also watched the Great Space Coaster, 3-2-1 Contact, and virtually everything else on MPT. My mom always told us "no TV unless its edicational" So I was raised...

How are you a Henson-Muppet fan?

Somehow I can relate with this a little bit. I had to experience moving up to Maine when I was 16 from my native state of MD. I had a very artist backround, and the art teacher in Maine rejected me because I wore a lot of black and skeleton pendents. Hang in there!

How are you a Henson-Muppet fan?

I remember Dark Cystal being one of my favorites as a kid, but also being really scared of it at the same time. I think in most of Henson's work there was a dark element. Even in SS. :scary:

    What Sketches Made You Laugh?

Yeah sometimes those oldies are hard to remember... Did you know that Oscar was based on a cab driver? Carroll Spinney got the idea after riding in a new york cab with this grouchy cab driver. Danny Devito plays an excellent grouch himself, but I think Oscar takes the cake, in the end :grouchy:

Your Thoughts: Street Gang – The Complete History of Sesame Street

That's a really good description. I felt the same way. There were some parts I couldn;t put down and others that I was happy to skim through. I have a greater respect as well as sympathy for Northern Calloway now... All though, one problem that still sits with me is, why does it say he died of...

    Sesame Street Unpaved

Thats what I got out of it... I'd re-check my statement, but I just mailed the book to my mom, so she could read it.

    Sesame Street Unpaved

You're right, there were others who complained. They continued to run it for awhile, because the majoriety of the views didn't care. It was only when members of the middle class black demographic complained did they actually proceed with pulling it. In the case with Roosevelt Franklin, the...

    Fave SST Songs

I'm going to say that my most favorite of all time is Put Down the Duckie with Hoots the Owl and Ernie. I like the original, but the extended version is the best.

Your Thoughts: Street Gang – The Complete History of Sesame Street

I had the same problem... I just skimmed through that part. The story gets good when its starts talking about Northern Calloway (David) and Sonia Manzano (Maria). I also liked the backround of Captin Kangaroo. There are also some really good descriptions of the muppets.

    Sesame Street Unpaved

I just finished reading Street Gang... I might like this book even better. According to street gang Roosevelt Franklin was pulled because middle class African Americans became offended. If memory serves me correct, there was also a TV special on called Unpaved and had Bob McGarth (Bob) on it.

Your Thoughts: Street Gang – The Complete History of Sesame Street

Hey I finished the book last night... I'm going to send it by mail to my mom... I did skim a little bit, but the parts I read, I was hooked to.

    What About Micki?

Shame we don't hear more about him, huh? I've seen quite a few teen actors really go places. Example Josh Brolin from Oliver Stone's W and the movie Milk. He was Mikey's older brother from the Goonies. Mikey, played by Sean Astin, also became bigger later on as Sam in Lord of the Rings. But I'm...

How are you a Henson-Muppet fan?

I liked them all, but mostly Muppet Show and Sesame Street. When I was a kid I sometimes didn't want to go to school because I wanted to watch SS

    What About Micki?

I only just joined this forum this weekend. I couldn't find a muppet or SS forum on the social networks like MySpace and Facebook. Really glad I found this, because some adults look at you funny if you say you're into SS.

    What Sketches Made You Laugh?

Was that the same skit where Oscar and Danny Devito try to out laugh each other?:grouchy:
