    My First Puppet: Brewster

THanks Again! Tiny update testing the fit of his teeth. I think I'm going to spread the top ones a bit further apart.

    Rod Puppet Project

I know I know... I haven't even finished the first two projects. However. I got the hankering to experiment with some basic mechanics.

    4 Legged Dog Puppet

I don't mind at all. You would embed it in the under structure (the foam or plastic whatever you built the body of your puppet out of), I'd suggest either just above the paws or just under the knee. However, on further reflection I think the fishing line would be a better solution. Not only...

    4 Legged Dog Puppet

You could tether the front and back legs together with fishing line or perhaps an acrylic rod so they move in tandem.

Got a couple more done before we had to deliver the lot! All together now!

    Sock Creatures!

Thank you for the enthusiasm. The process was inspired by a crafts channel I follow on facebook. Her method made a mouse, but I saw that it was easily modified. Surpreyes!

    Sock Creatures!

More soldiers! Actually the next 15 or so will be commissioned work. A Special needs class is bidding farewell to a student and I was asked to make puppets! The wife even got in on the act:

    Sock Creatures!

These have become like a meditative act for me. It's an organic process that I'm really enjoying.

    Sock Creatures!

We got invited to a birthday party for a friend's daughter. So, my wife and I made her some sock puppets! And here they are on my huge hands: Not the usual fare I know, but we had fun with them.

So we made some more progress on her. I think I'm getting better at patterning these heads, but I'm sure there was a better way of doing this one.

    Thank you sir!

    Crafty Apple

While I was patterning the skin for my first puppet my wife leaned really hard on my shoulder and asked, " When do I get one?" Same rules apply as with Brewster it's gonna be a while before we complete her.

    My First Puppet: Brewster

Wonder of wonders. Another update so quickly. I'm patterning his skin.

    My First Puppet: Brewster

The winter Holidays are killer at work, plus I got married and moved into a new house so Brewster had to be put on hold. January is kind of a dead month so I was able to break him back out and built his hands! Tuesday

    Making New Puppet!

You could give him a vampire collar perhaps to cover the back. I'd suggest including the hand/arm sleeve in future designs. Maybe a "Groucho" nose? I'm still digging the idea of an incognito alien visitor.

    My new friend

I like him! His ears give him a distinct silhouette.

    Making New Puppet!

I like his concept, and the Easter eggs for eyes work well (I found some that split longitudinally that I plan to use similarly). His jaw may be hinged a little too far for my personal taste. I'd probably recommend a complimentary color, or even the same color as the mustache, for his eyelids...
