    puppet builders in london, uk?

Hey there, folks. It's been a while since i've posted here. I've recently relocated to the UK and don't have any of my puppet stuff here. I've been keeping busy with animation projects, but would like to start a new "Itche Kadoozy Show" project soon. What i'm getting to is: Are there any...

Can anybody offer some words of wisdom with regard to creating big ol' costume head versions of my puppets. They are going to be walking around at a parade her in acouple of weeks, and i have no idea how to go about it. I've heard of costumes like this having fan's inside so the guys don't die...

    HELP!!!! need snowman pattern

the diamonds are to create the bottom/top curves of the balls that overlap. Just think of it as two darts placed head to head. The oval in the middle is a pretty terrible mouth. I just put it there to make sure theres a mouth openning.

    Blinking Eye Mechanisms

I recently made a puppet with a big furry unibrow thingy that sort of doubles as a uni-lash. It's a really simple way of creating a very expressive blink type effect (take a look at marvin in "the sit-in" and "the last show" episodes of the itche kadoozy show.) All it is is a piece of hanger...

    I need some help

I was doing weekly episodes for the weekly torah portions last year, and that ended. But the characters are a lot of fun, and I think a lot of people really dig them, so I decided to do longer episodes for the jewish holidays. The 3-5 minute shows were fun and let me explore a lot of styles...

    I need some help

I'm currently writing a very ambitious new mini series for the itche kadoozy show. It's a series of 4 ten minute episodes, and I think I can pull it off, but i need some more puppets. I'd do it myself, but I'm pinched for time and I'm busy writing, and most of all, my sewing machine is at my...

    My first completed puppet

When i first started building puppets 2 years ago, i learned from the foam book. So i wasn't aware of any other glueing method than the glue gun. By the time I even heard about contact cement I had already gotten hooked on the glue gun. It may seem like a newbie thing to some, but for me it...

    Jewy Puppet Show, anyone?

I am currently creating a jewish video series online (check out the link in my signature). As of now, i'm doing everything myself and it's absolutely exhausting. I'd like to see if there are any talented puppeteers out there, interrested in working on this super-jewy show. My budget isn't...

Your Thoughts: Kermit's Ford Super Bowl Commercial

Kermit's Song I don't think of it as steve singing jim's songs. I think of it as kermit singing kermit's songs. Just a thought. -Dovid

    Could soumeone replicate my puppets?

I built some puppets for a Jewish video series (www.itchekadoozy.com) and it has become pretty popular. The problem is, when I've tried to replicate them for replacements, my patterns don't yield exact copies. One of the things I love about puppet building is that you don't get exactly what...

    Uvula Patterns

Do you specifically want to know how the muppet's did it, or in general how one would do it. If it is the latter, I just made a pupet with a 2dimensional uvula tonight. I covered the mouth plate in black belt, then cut another covering out of dark red felt. I cut out the negative space (in...

Now for some real movie critics...

This could really use a laugh track. There's something dry about this statler and waldorf segment. SOmetimes a laughtrack, as fake as it may be, can add a certain vibrance to a piece like this. I believe there's an interview with Jim Henson somewhere on this site where he speaks about the...

    Nigel's Floppy Nose

thinner foam? I've been able to create some floppiness with 1/2 inch sheets of foam. It holds a 3d shape, but wabbles around. However, I have had problems with these shapes caving in a bit, but there are simple ways to deal with that.

    Between the Lions puppets

Take a look at the FAQs page for the show: http://pbskids.org/lions/faq/credits.html you'll see that Michael Frith, the art director for the muppets and designer of many of the characters, is behind the show. So you can't really sue a guy for using his own style for a different company.

    Cool Puppet Video

That was great! that was really good puppeteering, nice simple clean set, good video quality. I really loved it! Helps remind me that really simple puppets can sometimes be the most expressive.

    Important news on antron fleece

Dye I'm not so good at not causing irreversible damage to things. I once burned a hole in my parents' living room carpet and shifted everything in the room over a few inches to conceal it. But if there's a simple, relatively-clean way to do it, I could probably give it a try. And how do I go...
