As this is a gift for someone, don't you think nipples are going a bit too far.... even embarrassing, Puppetise, if you over emphasise this part of the lady's anatomy, she may be a little confused as to why? Maybe better to give the "body" more of an hourglass figure, and forget about "perky"...
I have hooks and loops for my glove puppets, and have built a shelf with square holes in for in front so I just slot my rod puppets in there (upright). It works really well, I used to dump all mu puppets on the floor, but they used to get in a muddle and also dirty if we were outside.
Hello, Puppetise, I guess those of us Puppet builders who are a little older wish that we had started out at 15 with as much enthusiasm as you. You are an inspiration to us all. My daughter is 18 and is an exceptional puppeteer, she builds the odd puppet but soon loses interest so I finish...
I am working on some finishing touches, in my new puppet cabin! I have already sent one lot of pics in, will get my daughter to take some more when my puppet is finished, thanks for the extra work time; if only life were like that!!
Thank goodness that I am not the only one that looks at stuff in shops etc, in the light of, 'what bit of a puppet can I make out of that?' . I too used mousemats for my sock puppet, but I have been moving workrooms and have got behind in building and don't know if I will be done by tomorrow!
Hello, I don't think I have seen any of your work before, but I really like the detail that you have put in this puppet, and I bet it looks really wacky when it is moving, well done! Is the pot foam as well?
Thanks, that's a really good idea. I had a puppet with a very floppy body once, and I did the same sort of thing with a ring of foam, this works brilliantly and makes him easier to pull on.
What a sweaty lot! I usually get caught up in liners too, so any advice to keep them untangled when using and changing puppets rapidly during a show much appreciated!
Hi, I have used this foam in large costume puppets before, and it is great because it is light, holds it's shape and lets air through, I havn't used for my smaller puppets, though have used closed cell foam for more rigid shells, and that is really useful. Thanks for link P & J
