Another great job James. Beautiful puppets and great puppeteering. Your talents truly shine regardless of anyone's opinion of the content. I look forward to seeing more.

    Pot Cookie Monster?

You're right, James Wojtal Jr. otherwise known as RavageFrackle did work on that piece. Which I'm sure was meant as a parody and not to be passed off as the real thing. Although, with it no longer being Cookie Monster and now being called Veggie Monster... it would seem that Mr. Monster has made...

    Custom patches?

You might be able to create it with an iron-on version of that photo. The quality might not be what you're looking for though. Nothing beats the real thing, but iron-ons would be cheaper and quicker.

Looking for help with Foam Latex

I'd have to agree with RavageFrackle. If you've never used foam latex before it can be overwhelming. It takes a lot of preparation and experimentation to get the mix down in order for it bake/cure properly. If you are set on using foam latex there are instructional videos you can pick up like...

Thanks for the info. If you don't mind me asking, what plastic did you use to cast the inside of the foam head?

    Chicago/Illinois area Puppeteers

I'm in the west burbs too. I think a Meet-up is a good idea. I've talked about starting monthly meetings with the guys that run "Opera in Focus" ( http://www.operainfocus.com ) at the Rolling Meadows park district where they have a 60 seat theater. They're open to it. Shoot me an email and we...

    Corraline Puppets & artistry

I got the chance to see "Coraline" in 3D today and I gotta say it was amazing. Not just for the brilliant Neil Gaiman story, not just for the Henry Selick stop-motion mastery, but for the fact that it's stop-motion in 3D! It really immerses you in the stop-motion physicality. Everything seems so...

    Corraline Puppets & artistry

I just saw "My Bloody Valentine" in 3D on Friday (which wasn't bad) and got to see the new trailer for "Coraline" in it's full 3D glory and I can't tell you enough how beautiful this movie is going to be. I was excited about the project from the beginning, but after seeing portions of it in 3D...

New Members: Please Post and Introduce Yourself

Hey everyone! I'm not exactly new to Muppet Central. I've come and gone over the years. I've spent my career up to this point mainly as a special effects artist/producer/writer in movieland with a stint in the middle where I focused solely on puppeteering. During that stint I collaborated with a...

    Heeeeeelllllllppppp!!!

Alrighty guys, this is a serious cry out for help. Aside from my SFX work I am also a partner in a small puppetry company. We had contracted a small puppet builder to help us build five of the key characters for our new show that we are building. She had finished two, not too well I might...

    Animatronics and such

Thanks for the links and points in the right direction. Yeah it's gonna be a pretty hefty puppet, both task wise and in size alone. It's going to take three people to animate it. I've seen a few articles in Cinefex. I'll have to dig up some of those articles. I actually just joined a...

Hey guys. Relatively new to the forum. Great to a part of such a great group of puppeteers, builders and fans. I'm a relatively new builder. I've been working in special FX and make-up fx for 5 or so years now and I have started using my building and sculpting experience to build puppets. I...
