New Muppet series in development for Disney's 2019 streaming service

They are fine to be family-friendly but they should not be aimed at kids. Henson did not want The Muppets (Classic Muppets) to be branded as kid`s entertainment. Sesame Street was his outlet for creating entertainment for children. The 2015 series did not bother me either, the characters were...

New Muppet series in development for Disney's 2019 streaming service

What does everyone think the new series will be about? Will it lean more towards the 2015 ABC Series or go in a new direction. I truly hope Disney executives will brand The Muppets as a children's franchise. I do have a feeling the show will be going towards a "family friendly" direction.

    What's next for the Muppets?

Does anyone know what Kevin is doing these days ? I think he did Wembley Fraggle at the Dave Goelz event a few years ago.

    What's next for the Muppets?

Here is an idea; A series of four of five hour-long specials featuring the Muppets reconnecting with old characters in a "Where are they now?" style episode. Each episode could focus on Kermit (Vogel), Fozzie (Jacobson), Gonzo (Goelz), and Scooter (Rudman) finding old characters and seeing...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

Peter could very well do Gonzo. He is going to get some key characters and is becoming one of the major performers. On Sesame he is taking over for Ernie, he does Big Bird ocassionally and could do Telly when Marty retires.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I'm not saying they will come back, it was just a hypothetical idea.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

This was mentioned a while ago. Here is my take; Tyler could make a great Clifford if Disney ever decides to resurrect the character. As to other recasts, Peter is probably the official Statler recast, Rizzo might be phased out to a background role, however, Peter could perform him. Lips will...

New Members: Please Post and Introduce Yourself

Hello/Bonjour, I joined Muppet Central, a while ago but I never did this. I am a Canadian, I am from Toronto- the home of many Muppet productions. I have been a Muppet fan for ever since I remember. The obsession started with Sesame then progressed to the Muppet Show. I would continuously borrow...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I've actually been responding all over on other people's posts. It's unfortunate that it was all played out so publicly. I don't think anybody handled it particularly well. It's no secret that I never felt Steve was the right choice for the role - he's just not good enough an actor. His...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

He very well could. I wonder if Matt's sesame characters will be pushed to the back burner after the transition ?

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I think Peter Linz will likely receive Robin from Matt Vogel's roster and do Big Bird more frequently as Matt will be busy with Kermit. Peter will also get Statler added to his roster and Beaker could go to David Rudman (Hunt character). I am not sure about Rizzo. I don't see him getting...
