Experiences with "I'll Miss You, Mr. Hooper"

I was 10 years old when Mr. Hooper died and remember the episode clearly. As I was already aware of the concept of death, I recall being sad and yet impressed that the producers decided to deal with the concept honestly. Rather than write off the character or recast, SS dealt with it in a way...

Your Thoughts: A Special Sesame Street Christmas DVD and CD

Ha ha...The infamous Star Wars Holiday Special!! At least that show introduced the world to Boba Fett. I had almost forgotten about A Sesame Street Christmas Carol...what was that? Good call man!!

Your Thoughts: A Special Sesame Street Christmas DVD and CD

In my own humble opinion, they will NEVER top Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. The Elmo's World Holidays special is pretty cool, because it explores other holidays like Hanukkah and Kwanzaa (a good lesson of other celebrations and cultures), as well as featuring Kelly Ripa who I thought played...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School Volume 3 1979-1984 DVD

I was so pleasantly surprised with this set...a lot of memories as a 39 year old lifelong Sesame Street fan!! While I will admit, I was hoping for some more bonus features, this set was fantastic!! I thoroughly enjoyed Sonia's commentary (we need more of these) on the Puerto Rico episode, "Born...

Thanks for the back-up everybody, I will be buying this and collecting money from bets about it's existence!! Seriously though, I like Drtooth, love collecting the rare and obscure.

"A Special Sesame Street Christmas" coming to DVD and CD November 6

I for one, am glad to see this special FINALLY released on DVD. This is another one of those TV shows (or specials) that I tell people about and no one believes me.

    Future Dr. Seuss Films

I have always loved "Hop on Pop", but I am not sure if that book could be a movie...maybe a short accompanying a full length feature?

    MSTies unite!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been here in a long while but I did indeed purchase the MST3K vs. Gamera set, and have watched the entire set twice already!! Love it!! I had forgotten how funny those episodes were and now I am in the process of collecting more sets...I am an MST3K junkie all over again!!

TV shows with long gaps between season sets

I just thought of one with a strange twist. In 2005, I bought Season 1 of "Sigmund & the Sea Monsters" released on Rhino (as all of the Krofft shows were at one time). Not too soon after that, Rhino to the best of my knowledge went out of business, so we STILL haven't got a release for Season 2...

Are other puppet shows on TV like the Muppet TV shows?

I wish "The Great Space Coaster" would come to DVD...what a great show! Another little known fact about that show was that Ray Stephens, who played Roy, was the policeman for Village People on their 1985 album entitled, "Sex Over the Phone".

Sesame Street Spoofs coming to DVD July 5

Wow...I'm without my computer for a few weeks and I find out about this, outstanding news! I cannot wait to watch this set, looks like a lot of fun! Glad to be back in cyberspace and back at MuppetCentral!

    Best Sesame Street Albums

I still have to name the very first Sesame Street album my favorite, I must have listened to that record (yes, I said record) everyday until it wouldn't play anymore. The Songs from the Street set is wonderful, my wife got it for me one Christmas and it's one of the best gifts I have ever...

    A Lidsville movie

I have always been a huge fan of Sid & Marty Krofft and felt that Lidsville was one of their more underrated shows. I think that having Dreamworks do an animated film adaptation is the best way to go. Land of the Lost was a tragedy (that was my absolute favorite non-Muppets show as a kid) and...

    Show of hands, please.

I would support this too. Once in a while you get a good vintage bit on "Play with me Sesame", but not often enough. I think a PBS Classic channel would be a great idea.

    Confessing Crushes...

Two words come to mind...Pam Grier. For those under 30, she starred in Roger Corman's women in prison films and Walter Hill's Blaxploitation films (Foxy Brown, Coffy, Friday Foster...) in the 70's before doing smaller roles in the 80's and starring in Quinten Tarentino's "Jackie Brown". I think...

    Funniest moments?

Frank Oz was such a master of improv...there's a moment on one of the Old School sets where Frank is performing as Bert, and one of the kids keeps grabbing at him and Bert says' "What..." (there's more I'm just drawing a blank) and it's obvious to me now as an adult that Frank simply didn't...
