Isn't anyone going to mention that another TMS guest star, the terrific Alan Arkin, just became an Oscar-winner? That makes 10 Oscar-winning actors to guest on "The Muppet Show": Joel Grey, Rita Moreno, Peter Ustinov, George Burns, Julie Andrews, Cloris Leachman, Liza Minnelli, Alan Arkin, James Coburn, and Glenda Jackson.

Despite some of the criticism he episode gets for the whole Jekyll/Hyde shtick he had to play on TMS, I thought he was great on the show, particularly in those bits when he's playing himself and not the Hyde monster- thinking Beaker is a nurse (and a female one, at that), sobbing after his number got canceled (not realizing what actually happened), and asking the Hyde Kermit to hold it down, not quite understanding what's happened to him, and the fact that when he wasn't playing the Hyde bit, he came across as being a very sweet guy, as Kermit described. Classic episode, great work from Arkin, he's a great actor who's successfully reinvented his career from character lead in the 60s & 70s to indie king of today, 40 years after his first Oscar nomination, and I'm happy for him.

Just got back from an Oscar party--and I won the pool!!! 54 bucks in my pocket!!! Woot!! I won with 18 correct answers--and I voted for "The Departed"! I am SOOOOOO happy it won! If "Babel" had won I would have been ******. I hope everyone enjoyed it! I loved the dancers who posed in the shapes of "Happy Feet", "The Devil Wears Prada" and, my favorite, "Snakes on a Plane". How awesome was that?

Yayyy Oscars! My friend Alex was asking everyone which they liked better, Oscar night or New Years, and the overall concensus was Oscar night trumps it all. Hehe. It was fun

I wrote a super-long entry about it on my Xanga and if anyone cares to read it's here.

I love how Ellen and those people made the scene from "Snakes on a Plane". That was hilarious! Then she said, "They're naked!". No surprise that she would've said that!
I also missed when John Travolta & Queen Latifah were presenting an award!! If I was such a big Hairspray fan like I say I am I wouldn't have missed it! :frown:

They were pretending to be discreet and did a bad job of it.

I didn't watch the Oscars, but I'm glad Martin Scorsese finally won! The Departed was one of the best films I saw last year, along with The Black Dahlia (De Palma!) and Casino Royale.

Yes, Martin Scorsese has been robbed so many times. I just saw Taxi Driver last night for the first time and it was one of the best movies ever. Yay for him!

Congrats on winning, Sarah!
