ALF will be debuting as a political commentator on "The O'Reilly Factor" with Bill O'Reilly this Friday night (11/30) on Fox News. It airs at 8 and 11pm Eastern in the USA and is also broadcast internationally (Check Listings). This looks like the start of a regular guest spot for him if all goes well.

Bill O'Reilly, really? Wow, that is strange. For anyone on the planet that doesn't know who Bill O'Reilly is, he's a very conservative megalomaniac (no, not Melmachian) that grand-stands on cultural issues. He's a guy who only sees in black and white extremes and actually buys into his own shtick. :attitude: <---(Think Sam the Eagle but without the Muppety goodness!)

He is a guilty pleasure of mine to watch just as people (on another end of the spectrum) watch Howard Stern just to see what crazy thing he will say or do next. The difference is Bill-O is a "true-believer" of his own self-righteous "bloviating”. I watch him, not because I agree with him, but because I don't. ;)

It's always fun to see someone act so crazy on television. I try to catch him at least once a week. I hope ALF has some zingers ready for Bill-O! :zany: If I know ALF, I'm sure he does.

It is quite unusual, although he has done a guest interview on Fox News before and i always thought he would do ok guest hosting something like Larry King so this is kinda on that level i guess. I gather ALF is not O'Reilly's biggest fan so yeah i guess Fox has put him on there to give Bill a taste of what he dishes out, lol. It should be fun, and seems the trailer has been well viewed in the first few hours so the public is curious at least.

ALF has interacted with O'Reilly once before -

Oh, that is funny! I'm not sure if you get O'Reilly over there, but Steven Colbert's show is basically a direct lampooning of Bill-O. The funny thing is, he really doen't play it up that much. Bill really is that asinine. Even moreso sometimes! :attitude: I stand by my Sam comment. LOL!

That's why he calls Bill "Papa Bear". :D

This sounds like a bizarre combination. Someone will have to post it on YouTube for me or just tell me how it goes.

Not even ALF can get me to watch that pompous, lying windbag.

They ought to have a round table political kinda discussion with Sam Eagle, ALF, and Yoda. Ratings winner!

I haven't seen O'Reilly yet, but i will tune in tonight to see what its all about.

isn't it funny that he calls Bill "Papa Bear" and at the same time HATES bears? :)

Bears are the number one threat.

So he's a public enemy to bears everywhere? I just hope he realises ALF isn't a bear then ... could get nasty what with the fur!

I wonder where he stands on the issue of illegal aliens in America

If only Alf was the Chest Bursting Face hugging sort of Alien Lifeform,

maybe he could switch his diet from Cats to Humans for just one night

:zany: That's what a Secular-Progressive would say. Are you anti-family, apple pie and America? Only kidding! Bill-O used to drive me nuts too, but I think his self righteous buffoonery works against his preposterous talking points.

I like it when other news sources catch him in an obvious lie, show the tape of his contradicting statements and he still denies any misbehavior. It's like Fox News has more fantasy than the Sci-Fi channel! No wonder ALF is on. Makes perfect sense now! :D

You mean like last year when, reporting on the assault on Christmas, he referred to a "recent story" (my quotes) that ran on a TV show mocking people who think Christmas is being attacked. The TV show was "The Daily Show". The clip he showed wasn't recent, it was over a year old. You could tell because at the time O'Rielly did his story, Samantha Bee (the "reporter" in the clip) was 8 months pregnant. In the clip, she wasn't pregnant at all.

So yeah, nice research team there.

And why does the message board let me type in "O'Reilly"? It does't let me type other bad words.

I'm sad to know that Gordon Shumway has sunk so low that he feels it's a step up to do O'Reilly's show.

As one of Bill's so-called "secuar progressives", I find his antics completely humorless. We have to remember: there ARE people out there who take this schmuck seriously and buy in to his insane rantings. This is the exact same thing I said about Flush Limburgher (Rush Limbaugh) in the early days when he was on our local talk radio station. My co-workers just laughed and said "He's entertainment... nobody can take him seriously."

But people DID take him seriously. And his kind of warped messaging has infiltrated the whole of news and entertainment. He wasn't the first, but he certainly was a significant influence.

If you ever want to hear me go on a REAL tear sometime, get me started on the subject of the Fairness In Broadcasting Doctrine and the sale of our American airwaves to private corporations. We've been robbed, folks.

"He's quick, I'll give him that..." -ALF, about the family cat Lucky
