In today's Dallas Morning News, There's a bit about a young couple getting married that seemed interesting.
"Here's an office romance nobody could
have predicted: Cookie Monster and Big Bird are getting married.
The Philadelhia Inquirer reports that David Frey and Jennie
McNelis knew each other as kids and reconnected in 1999
when they went to work at Sesame Place, a theme park in Langhorne, PA. Both earned their living encased in furry
rugsfor kids to hug: he's Big Bird and she's Cookie Monster.
'We both believe that we owe Sesame Place us, ourselves,
our relationship, where we are today.' Mr. Frey said. 'We've
had good times and bad times there.'
The bad times came last summer when Ms. McNelis was
attacked by a father who claimed that Cookie Monster
snubbed his daughter. She denied she would do anything
that would sully the Muppet magic, and the dad was
convicted of assault.
the wedding is planned for July 2003, and the only costumes
at the ceremony will be white dresses and Tuxedos."
An interesting story, if for no other reason than because a dad attacked Cookie Monster! Is that the world we live in?

Now come on--hitting a beloved childhood figure is wrong no matter who it is...unless it's Barney at Universal Studios, of course he doesn't really count as beloved does he?

I remember reading about the attack in the news last year. If you go to the old MC forum I beleive there are postings about it.

Well, the guy just didn't want his daughter to have a bad experience there.

...I think punching out someone dressed like Cookie Monster, or punching out anyone for that matter, is a good way to ensure your child and everyone else has a bad experience -- Oh well, some therapist is going to be raking in the cash--
