Over the years we've seen everyone from Alice Cooper, Weezer, Elton John and REM work with the Muppets/Sesame/etc gang.
I was wondering what are some bands and artists you personally could see appearing on a new Muppet show or working with them? Bands I feel have that irreverent fun spirit about them:

I could see...

They Might Be Giants:

LCD Soundsystem:

The B-52's:

Spike Jones and the City Slickers.

...What?

OK, seriously, I think that it is simply wrong that Weird Al Yankovic and the Muppets have not yet done a show together. I hope that Disney will recognize this and rectify it.

I agree, Weird Al should be a no brainer, though to be fair, he did mention the Muppets a few times (Look at his songs like Yoda or his 8 Mile parody)

My Morning Jacket, as lead man Jim James is a Muppets fan and has stated The Muppet Show as an influence on his music.

I think there are loads that would be happy to, but the top one for me is off course, la Gaga.

I definitely agree with Weird Al Yankovic and They Might Be Giants. I could also see Bowling for Soup and The B-52s would be cool too.
I would also suggest Flight of the Conchords and Rhett & Link- I think both of these duos would be hilarious with The Muppets. I'd also love to see Relient K, Switchfoot, Stryper and ApologetiX and Steve Taylor with the Muppets.:big_grin::sing:

I would definitely agree about Weird Al and Flight of the Conchords. And it'd definitely be a boost to have Lady Gaga appear with them(actually, didnt she appear with that faux Kermit last september?)

Cyndi Lauper definately. The closest she's come is an appearance on Elmocize but she needs to work with the Classic Muppets.

Chris Isaak - the guy's known for his great sense of humor as much as his music.

Annie Lennox - earlier in her career i doubt she would have done so, but these days i so can see her either as a guest on a modern Muppet Show and/or on Sesame Street (it's criminal that she STILL hasn't shown up to sing an ode to Y)

I don't know if Pet Shop Boys would work with them or not, but i would love to hear them do something along the lines of what they did with their Absolutely Fabulous Song with the Muppets.

Sting's another one that would be an excellent fit, all around multi-talent and again great sense of humor.

...and since his son's a major fan and now official Boom! Muppet comic writer, Dee Snider could totally work with them.
