Whoah, that's cool. But it also stinks that I wouldn't even be able to watch it!

Hopefully it's true, the picture looks pretty authentic, especially with current versions of the characters.

It appears so.

But what really hurts is that this is yet another nail in the Muppet coffin.
For Disney and the Muppet Holding Company (McClellan and Baker) to agree to license out to the French to have their own Muppet show hurts all Muppet fans. What is to stop Disney from licensing (or franchising) The Muppet Show to any other country that wishes to create their own versions.

What next a German Muppet show, then a swiss Muppet show, etc?

By them licensing out 'The Muppet Show' to the French, it kills the chances of ever having a new American Muppet show. Why? Because Disney products always go international and if a new American Muppet show was made, this new French version would interfere with the European marketing of a new American Muppet show. Which would result in less projected profit for Disney so no new American Muppet show will be made.

Odds are the scripts are not being written by Jim Lewis and translated into French.
Bill Baretta, Kevin Clash and Brian Henson will NOT be in France to supervise the performers either in the Muppet style of puppetry and the personality that each character should project.

Instead this French version will be performed by puppeteers who will give it their own interpretation. And no matter how you look at it, it's not 'The Muppets' that we have loved.
