This is a script for a ficticious fifteenth anniversary Sesame Street special, hosted by Chevy Chase. Enjoy!

(Chevy Chase enters the street)
Chevy Chase: Hi, I'm Chevy Chase, and you're not! And in fact, this street is Sesame Street, and yours isn't. Anyway, tonight I am going to celebrate the shows fifteen years.
(The Count appears)
The Count: Fifteen? Fifteen years?
Chevy Chase: Yes, this street has been around for fifteen years.
The Count: Amazing! I will count the years....
Chevy Chase: Uh, you can later. Right now, we need to get to the opening clip montage.
The Count: I will count the clips!

Clips in Montage (the audio is the version of the theme from the 1984-1985 season)
  • Big Bird and Susna look at the alphabet scroll (from the original ABC-DEF-GHI)
  • Ernie, Bert, Bob, and the kids play a game about what everybody does
  • Oscar uses his trash can as a vaccume (I can't remember the episode number for this)
  • The Big Bad Wolf blows Kermit away (from the Sesame Street News sketch where Kermit interviewed the pig who built a straw house)
  • The Song of the Count
  • K is for Kermit, L is for Luis, M is for Maria, N is for Nancy...
  • the cast plays "Follow the Leader"
  • Big Bird uses Mr. Hooper's 10 machine on a trash can
  • Kermit observes the Twiddlebugs having a twiddlebug party
  • Ernie uses Bert's nose for a clay sculpture
  • Cookie Monster in Monsterpeice Theater (Chariots of Fur)
  • Grover and the cast look at the audience (from the seventh or eight season premier)
  • Oscar has the ficticious "duck pox"
  • Cookie Monster finishes eating Hooper's Store
  • Cookie Monster drives a train through the Beat the Time set
  • Grover brings two cows onto the Beat the Time set
  • Super Grover busts through the Super Grover logo

More to come later!

Mr. Snuffleupagus: Oh, it sure is, Bird. I've always wanted to meet Chevy Chase!
(they both look around, and notice that Chevy Chase isn't there)
Big Bird: Hmm, where do you think Mr. Chase is?
Mr. Snuffleupagus: I don't know. But I've got an idea.
Big Bird: What?
Mr. Snuffleupagus: I'll look for him that way (points his snuffle past Big Bird's nest), and you'll look for him this way! (points snuffle past Hooper's Store)
Big Bird: What a brialliant idea!
(they both leave, and as soon as both are out of sight, Chevy Chase, Gordon, and Susan all enter out of the doors)
Chevy Chase: Well, thanks for inviting me over for some tea and coffee.
Susan: You're welcome.
Chevy Chase: You know, a lot has changed on this street in 15 years.
Gordon: That's right. I used to have hair.
(cut to: clip of the very first street scene)
Gordon: That really takes me back. And I also shaved off my mustache for a few years, too.

Super Grover: Oh, yes, except for my head and chest.
(Bruno carries Oscar to the cast)
Oscar: Well, that's what I like about you, Grover, your chrashing. (makes nasty laugh)
Super Grover: I do not see what is so funny.

Big Bird: Me and my best friend, Mr. Snuffleupagus.
Chevy Chase: (looking around) Uh, I don't see anybody else.
Big Bird: Well, we split up while looking for you. I'll go find him and tell him that I've found you. (walsk away)
Chevy Chase: What a crazy bird. And after these commercial messages, we'll be right back with more craziness!

(the cast is gathered)
Chevy Chase: And now, here are some scenes from Follow That Bird. I still can't believe that the cast of Sesame Street hasn't starred in a movie until now.
Big Bird: Me, neither, but I am the star. My friend Kermit has starred in three movies before me...
Grover: Well, are we all ready to watch some scenes?
Forgetful Jones: Watch scenes from what?
(everybody groans)
Ernie: Well, Rubber Duckie is ready. (squeaks Rubber Duckie)
Bert: Well, quiet down. Remember what happens when you're loud during a movie?
(fades to the sketch where Ernie makes loud noises at the movies)
Ernie: Actually, you are the one who had it tough.
Bert: (sarcasticaly) Very funny, Ernie.
Maria: Well, let's get this movie started.
Kids: Yeah!

I wonder if during Chevy Chase's introduction for his cameo, it should have gone like this...

"This movie features many celelbrity cameos. Joe Flaherty and Dave Thomas play the bad guys, and there are also cameos by John Candy, Sandra Bernhard, and Wayland Jennings. Oh, yeah, and I also make a cameo."

I wanted to include a clip with the Sleaze brothers, onyl I couldn't think of a good clip to include (most of their scenes are good, but I wanted somethign good enough for a "sneak peek"). And now I think that I should have included that scene where they use a net to try to get Big Bird.
