Today China joined the space-faring community with the launching of their Shenzhou 5 (Divine Vessel 5) capsule at 9 AM Beijing time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre.

The 'Taikonaut' aboard, 38-year old Lt. Col. Yang Liwei, and the ship will orbit the Earth 14 times, which will take roughly 23 hours, then land somewhere in Inner Mongolia Thursday morning their time.

History, people. History.
