In the New York Post today:

Advertising legend Jerry Della Femina on the constant bad behavior of overpaid celebrity endorsers (O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears et. al.):

"There should be a rule. If you pay someone $50 million to endorse your product, they shouldn't be allowed to leave their house after 9 p.m."

His solution?

"Celebrity puppets. Even at his worst, how bad could Cookie Monster be?"

Go Cookie! Yay! Of course, he would be no good endorsing a diet plan...

But think what he could do for cookies . . . ice cream . . . oh, I could just see him doing BEEF: IT'S WHAT'S FOR DINNER. Sitting in an elegant restaurant. OMG. Watch, somebody'll pick this up and I'll get no commission at all. I can't believe nobody's hired him for this stuff.

Well, so far no one has done it. Maybe you'll get that commission after all.
Then I can say I knew her when she thought I was a he.
