I know why Jim and his crew had to travel to England taped The Muppet Show, but what strikes me curious is could the show have been taped just as easily, if not easier in Canada? Most early Muppet specials like The Muppet Musicians of Bremen and Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas were taped in Canada, so why not TMS?

Beau is right. It could been made in Canada, the US or anywhere back then. Budget wasn't the concern in those days. They just couldn't get any executives to bite until Grade and he wanted it taped in the UK. The confidence in the Muppet Show gave way to Jim Henson deciding where he wanted subsequent programs made like Fraggle Rock and the Henson Hour.
