Crayola has a soft foam that works great on styrofoam balls, its light and paints well. The only thing is that it can crack a little bit if not worked well. I will have pictures soon of this awsome bird I'm making!

the foam that is commonly used for muppets should not crack. What you should try to find is polyfoam (i think it's called that).

Anyway, i am dying to see your creation soon

I know, and I am currently making a puppet out of cloud foam which Is I believe similar to the foam you are talking about but I also like to try to use different materials.
