In the end of Toy story 3 Andy play with his toys one last time with Bonnie.
Andy leaves to college and he leave his toys behind in Bonnie's care.

So did you cry at the ending of Toy story 3?

I always cry at the end because it was beautiful!

I did tear a little at the end the first time I saw it. I still get a little choked up from time to time.

    That's good!

I started bawling the first time I saw it, it's a very emotional scene.

Not every single time, but the ending scenes really does get to me regardless. I cried the first time I saw it in theaters and when I watched the DVD for the first time, but that's it.

Now Up on the other hand is a completely different story...

Toy Story has always been part of my life. So yes, seeing the ending of TS3 was tear-jerking for me.

Nah. I thought it was sweet, but I didn't cry.

Now I did tear up at the opening scene of Up...
  9. Hayley B Active Member

That was sad too. So sweet in the end of that movie.

No, I didn't cry. But then I've never cried watching a movie. Even getting choked up is rare for me.

I really enjoy the Toy Story movies. But I do have one problem with them that I can't seem to get past. All the problems the characters have they pretty much bring on themselves by keeping the fact that they are intelligent living beings a secret. While I realize revealing themselves might reduce the emotional impact these movies have it never made sense to me that maintaining the masquerade is worth risking death, dismemberment and incineration. Abandonment is really the least of their worries. People do horrible things to toys sometimes. They do so only because they see toys as inanimate objects incapable of suffering. Most people would not do this if they realized toys were sentient beings capable of feeling love, fear and pain.
It seems somewhat strange that a toy, when faced with being tossed in a trash compactor or any other life threatening situation wouldn't speak up in a last ditch effort to save themselves.

Yeah see The Christmas Toy solved that by saying the toys would be frozen forever if ever discovered. Of course then you're kinda caught between a rock and a hard place, lol.

Yeah, I remember that. I used to have it on tape when I was a kid. Toy Story has no such excuse though. We even see the toys revealing to Sid that they're alive so we know they can without any penalty. One wonders why they never try that at any other point in the series.

I kinda find that... well... awful. I mean, Toy Story meaning the toys are alive leaves to some pretty big fridge horror moments which become almost a reality for the main characters near the end of TS 3 before everything's resolved. But getting caught in Christmas Toy means instant death or WORSE... the realization that they're still sentient and can no longer move or react to anything. That's almost worse if you think about it.

    I said no, because I didn't actually, but I became pretty darn close. I know, I'm a heartless soul(ducks tomatoes):o

For sure, that's why I like Christmas Toy, because it went there. ;)

Toy Story 3 happens to be pretty much the only movie that I've ever cried during. You can throw the saddest movie that exists at me, yet this one is the only one I'll cry during.

I think it is because, in a sense, for some weird reason, I can really connect to Andy in that movie, and the whole scenario as a whole.
Collgoff and Mo Frackle like this.

I have no mouth yet I must scream.
