One of the best Boober episodes...
Boober is making radish gumbo, and as it's cooking, Gobo and Wembley walk in with their laundry. Since they expect same day service, Boober decides to do that while the gumbo simmers. But when Boober goes to add the radish, he discovers he doesn't have any. So he goes to the Gorg's garden to get one, but when he takes a peek outside, he sees Pa sleeping beside the hole. And while he's sleeping, Junior and Ma are spring cleaning. And everything Ma throws out, Pa tells Junior to keep. And the pile of trash piles up more and more throughout the episode.
Boober decides that, since he couldn't get a radish, he should add skunk cabbage and greaseberries. After Gobo and Wembley taste it and find it disgusting, Boober throws it out in his wastebasket, and then sings "Throw it Out" with Gobo and Wembley. Then, after finding out that someone added yeast to the laundry, he pours it into the wastebasket, too, and decides to start the laundry over again.
However, he notices that after he poured it into the basket, he sees that the formula turns purplish-pink and even shimmers. He shows the other four, and Wembley takes a wooden spatula and tries to get out the skunk cabbage. But when he puts the spoon in to stir it, the spoon turns invisible. They see this as the greatest thing in the history of the rock...
As they go to the hole to the Gorg's garden, they each rub a little bit of the invisible soup on themselves, and go out to the garden. As the fraggles are walking back, each carrying their own radish, Junior notices that his radishes are moving. He picks up the one that Boober is carrying, but he can't see Boober, let alone anyone else. Red saves him, saying that they are magic radishes that come to inspect the other radishes and see how they are doing. She also tells him that Boober is the most magical of the magic radishes, and then he sets Boober back down. Red then tells him he's doing a good job, and then they escape back to Fraggle Rock, just before the invisibility wears off.
Once they get back, Boober tries to tell them that this is too good to be true and wants to throw it out. The others sing "Can't Thump A Fraggle You Can't See" to convince him. But Boober thinks you can thump a Fraggle you can see; he almost was! Then, Fraggle Rock goes under a huge, monsterous rock quake and it's caused by the soup.
Boober, against what the others say, decides to get rid of the soup once and for all by taking it to the garden and dumping it. Gobo and the others try to get the soup from him, but they ultimately decide that since it's his, he can do with it what he wants.
Boober is walking past the Gorg's garden, carrying the soup behind him, when Junior stops piling the trash, and sees him. Junior puts down his foot in front of Boober, who is very brave, telling the Gorg to get out of his way; he's saving the world from destruction. Junior picks up the bucket that's holding the soup, and can tell that it's rutabega gumbo. Boober runs back to the hole, just as Pa comes up and takes a drink from the bucket. Pa has a reaction from the soup, making him bounce up and down. "Now that's what I call gumbo," he says.
Ma then runs out of the house, seeing that Junior never took the trash to the trash pile, and tells him to get busy. Junior takes the bucket back into his hand, and then throws it over his shoulder. Then the pile of trash that built up just explodes, leaving the garden perfectly clean of all the trash.
Once Boober is back in, the others thank him for saving them from what could have happened. Sometimes something that seems too good to be true probably is.
