Okay, so muh co-worker Shawn and I are at each other's throats over this. Ya know the "Doozer Knittin' Song" from the FR episode "The Great Radish Famine"? Yep.

Welp, we vehemently disagree over a phrase in the 2nd verse. One certain line goes,

"And __-knittin' __-needles just ain't worth a darn"

Now the doozers singin' this verse put a special twist at the beginnin' o' those words, and other "N" words earlier in the verse.

And Shawn got this girl Lora we work with to "arbitrate", and she sided with HIM (GRRRRRrrrrrrr...), but she didn't know anything cause she was all tired and weak and stuff, and she didn't listen as closely as she should have. (And he's enjoyin' this waaaaaaaay too much...)

So.

How do YOUUUUUUUU all think the words are pronounced??

And I'm keepin' my opinion outta 'is in case I wanna print this out and show him PROOF that I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG!!!

 @ Shawn

 @ sure-to-be VICTORYYYYY!!!

In my expert opinion, I must agree with SillyRed. It is pronounced:

Ka-Nittin' Ka-Needles

I have seen and heard this song on many an occasion, and I concur.

Quite right. Basically, what they're doing is actually pronouncing the silent "K" at the beginning of the word "knit", and then also attaching this "K" to the beginning of other N-words.

"You can K-nit all day, and K-nothing fits,
Cause only K-nitwits like to K-nit,
And K-nittin' K-needles just ain't worth the darn."

What a strange song.

I think it's "Ka"nitting, placing emphasis on the "K" in knit which is usually silent, like Bugs Bunny catching "P"neumonia, y'see? Or Gary "G"nu (GAH-nu) with the "G"news...

Of course, you could email Karen Prell since she did some Doozer voices.

2. Doozer Knitting Song [01:23]

Performed by: The Doozers

It's neat and it's sweet.
It's a ding dong treat,
Knittin' socks for little feet.
Just sittin' with your knittin' all day long.

You know, knittin's friendly,
And knittin's fun.
Knittin's good for everyone,
And that is why we sing this knittin' song.

Well it's knit one pearl two.
What's a Doozer gonna do,
With a gol-darn,
Ball of yarn?
It's stitch three drop four.
Pitch that knittin' out the door right now.

There's a green, there's a red.
There's a knot in my thread.
A knitter needs his noggin read,
So don't come 'round and speak to me of yarn.

You can k-nit all day and k-nothin' fits.
'Cause only k-nitwits like to k-nit,
And k-nittin' k-needles just ain't worth a darn.

Well it's knit one pearl two.
What's a Doozer gonna do,
With a gol-darn,
Ball of yarn?
It's stitch three drop four.
Pitch that knittin' out the door right now.

HEEEEEEEE thinks it's, "kur-nittin' kur-needles"!

!!

Heh...what a maroon, eh?...

:stick_out_tongue:

Ya hear that, Shawn?! I'M RIGHT! YOU'RE WRONG!!
