I forgot about this 'til the other day but, last Sunday ( Nov. 5th ), Stewie made reference to "Fraggle Rock" on "Family Guy". He & Brian where duped into the military and somehow, the punchline ended with Stewie saying " Fraggle Iraq ". To my limited knowledge, this is the 2nd reference to "Fraggle Rock" made on TV's FOX's "Family Guy".

So, uhh... anyone else catch that? :smirk:

I don't remeber that one, but I do remeber one in the first season where Peter was holding a Rock in his hands and he said, ' here's a Fraggle Rock. ' Not sure excatly what was going on but I do remember hims aying that.

Hmm... I don't recall that. The other reference I've heard was most likely from the first season when Peter mixes up Plymouth Rock with Fraggle Rock. :smirk:

Geez, Family Guy is such a popular show, and the population of "Fraggle" is pretty popular, so they used a reference to Fraggle Rock in Family Guy.
    Hee hee!

I just hope they don't say anything derogatory about Fraggle Rock... like the way too many people think it's cool to hint at Bert & Ernie's sexuality. I've never been a fan of that since Sesame Street is supposed to be children's show. :smirk:

Wow, that is cool. They're showing it here at the moment - I'll be listening out for that. I think it would be cool if they had episode where there's a hole in the wall and Stewie actually met Fraggles...that would be so fun.

    :excited::excited: at "Fraggle Iraq"

Also, has anyone seen American Dad. The guy who does the voice of Steve, when he speaks in certain tones it reminds me a bit of Gobo.

Somewhat Rude Fraggle stuff that peopel talk about lol

A friend of mine used to say that Uncle Matt smoked too maney Fraggle Rocks, and that was a joke for years in my household. I sometimes wonder if that's not a little bit true.
I still think Gobo dabbles in the magic shrooms from time to time. You like to explore caves huh? You probably get lost in them on one of your trips and clame you were just on a long voyage. lol
Defantly Boober for sure I mean DREAM DOOZER his dearms look like some kind of bad ascid trip.
I think Wembley might be in the clear though, but who knows after all him and Gobo did live together for a while. No slah I was referring to the mushroom thing. :p
Mokey. Um... a dreamer, a ' visionary ' oh yes you do get ' visions ' allright.
Red could be a catch 20. She dose whatever direction her speatic mind takes her. lol
I hope I'm not introuble again lol

The creator, maybe, but then again, there were a lot of messed up shows back then. Who can say that they weren't ALL taking a little sump'm sump'm

Heh, that's funny zeldazipple :excited: . I *think*there was an episode where the family is moving into a new house or something and Peter says "There's fraggles under the floorboards!", lol! :)

Ooh, I heard the "Fraggle Iraq" line, and it made me laugh.

Yeah, the creator of Family Guy is like a huge muppets fan, because there are a lot of references in the show. I haven't heard many on American Dad, but then again, I don't really watch that show much..

There have been a few on American DAd.

One episode began with Stan watching Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster talk about sharing. Another had Steve's fat friend have fantasies about Miss Piggy. Another still had Ernie and Bert at a Log Cabin Republican's meeting. Finally, the most current one featured a refference to Maria on Sesame.

I'm a little disappointed that Fraggles have been mentioned in passing, and not used in one of those cut scene things.

Now, THAT would be funny. Since I'm convinced that Seth McFarlene is a member of the board here, why don't we say WE WANT MORE FRAGGLE REFERENCES!!!

Only if they're non-trashing references mind you. :smirk:

It doesn't matter, maybe a reference on Boober working at a laundromat and going crazy, throwing change at the customer and cursing him out. Doesn't matter to me.

It matters to me though. I'm weary of the trendy and socially acceptable vulgarity that comprises TV programing these days. I'd rather they leave the shows with substance alone if all that the writers are able to do is associate tired sexual humor to them so they appeal to the slow & impressionable minds that folks like to sport nowadays.

Can't anybody just be happy with a reference now-in-days? At least they're referencing this instead of not doing anything with it. I personally think that if everything was wholesome and meant for a higher class of sofisticates, than nobody would watch it because it doesn't represent Joe Everyman. Besides, the only substance that the Fraggles are associated with are the stuff that people claim make it more interesting if you know what I mean ;)

Actually, I just remembered Miss Piggy was referenced in an episode of American Dad...a character Barry revealed he was in love with her and she appeared like a ghost to him. :flirt:
