...how'd you sew those Peepers ?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to attached whole Ping Pong ball eyes to the top of a fleece head.
There is no foam inside the head (Its kinda like Kermits.), But i want to attach 'Fraggle' eyes to the top of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks

I've been thinking the same thing. Here's what I'm thinking of doing:

Either, just hot glue it there. I know that might be temporary if I get crazy
using the puppet, but I've had luck with hot-glue thus far (I just used "thus" in a scenetence, go me.)

Or, I'm thinking of attaching a doll joint to the bottom of the eyeball and poking it through the top of the head. i think I'd still need hot glue, but at least this way the hot glue would attach to the doll joint and eyeball rather than the fleece.

Just some thoughts. let me know if you develope any other method.
Thanks
Patrick

Patrick,

Is a doll join one of these...

The eye is outside and then there is something under the fleece that fixes on and holds it in place?

thanks

Right! There are usually white-ish in color and they come in various sizes. They're usually used for teddy bear arms, but I've used them for my puppet's arm and they are useful inside the palm of a puppet's hand for arm rod attachments. Although, I've yet to perfect that technique. I think I need better rods...

Hope this helps

If hot glue is used, then how would the eyeballs move around (like Wembley's)?

I've used hot-glue to connect the whole ping-pong balls. I've also used a small hole in the bottom of it to put over a screw which I stuck up through the puppet from the inside, and superglued it where it would connect close to the fur.

Guys,

Thanks for the answers.

Kev,
How would the screw hold in place ?
Seeing as the Ping Pong Balls are hollow.

thanks
