I know how you feel, but it really isn't a terrible thing to want to see. If you buy a copy, you'll be watching a beautiful tribute to a man beloved by millions. You'll cry tears over the world's loss but you will be touched by the love shown by those who lived and worked with him.

Heck, I'd kill for a copy, morals or not. The only thing that bugs me about that one is that they're only giving it for a nickel. This beautiful, amazing, rare memorial service is worth more than a frickin nickel. I don't think it's bad to want one. He didn't want it to be a private memorial. I'm pretty sure he thought it was a more the better kind of thing. :)

    Gero,
You are talking about The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson.

I've had one problem on ebay, I was trying to buy a Fozzie figure and it was $2.60, so I sent a money order and never got the fig. I ended up buying another one in a Muppet lot though.

    Got mine

Well I got mine today and I gotta report back that It really is an incredible tribute. And I don't regret it at all, except when Frank Oz spoke it nearly killed me. It shipped fast on two disk luckily no ebay problems here.
As some one who was on the fence about this, I recomend it to all

I felt pretty much the same way as KingLackland. But after viewing it, I was really glad I made the decision to view it. It is much more than a funeral/memorial service but a celebration of Jim's accomplishments and all he stood for.

You got the one that was goin for a nickel? I thought fer sure that was a scam. :o Well, I guess I've learned my lesson. *Throws all preconceived notions and caution into big garbage can* Now I shall wait for another. :excited:

I believe the same seller that was selling it for a nickel has several auctions going for the same price. You may want to check again.

It's a really great thing, and if anyone gets a chance to bid it on ebay, I reccomend you all do.

    more for sale

hey gang was just surfing ebay and saw there was another of these online.

    I just bought it
One question though, will I need tissues? I cry at a drop of a hat
I cried when Big Bird said goodbye to Snuffy in Follow That Bird, 21 years later I still get teased over that by my mother
  13. MuppetsRule Active Member

At times you'll need tissues. Other times you'll be smiling. It is a very touching tribute that you'l enjoy.
  14. MeepBorkMeep New Member

Er, you'll definitely need tissues. I didn't cry when I saw it, except when I saw the clip of Big Bird singing it's not easy being green. But I got really, really close when Frank Oz started crying after his speech. And when Louise sang. And when Dave sang I'm Going To Go Back There Someday. But that's about it. I cried in the aftermath, though. So all I can say is good luck. ;)

I feel a bit uneasy wanting to buy and see his funeral
  16. Muppet Matt Active Member

    Why?
  17. ronhallau New Member

if Jim wanted his funeral to be public and televised it is ok but if he didn't that's the problem I am having
  18. Muppet Matt Active Member

Ok, I see what you mean now.
  19. MeepBorkMeep New Member

I don't think he minded it being televised. He did say he wanted a small service, maybe a few songs, but they made clear at the funeral that that DEFINITELY did not happen. The only thing keeping DVD viewers from going was age or location. So basically I think he's cool with it.

I guess we really don't know what Jim Henson's wishes were. I believe it was a public service though (I could be wrong) and not a private memorial so that might give us an idea of his wishes.
