Kami gets Licenced!

The HIV+ character on South Africa's Takalani Sesame is said to have merchandising in the works.

I did not know that South Africa had Merchandise of their characters (Germany, France, Mexico, and Spain, I'm sure of). I'd love a plush of that large Meirkat (bad spelling. It's the animal that Timon of the Lion King is), but that's off topic.

Yeah. I was sort of surprised to see her at the top of the Muppet Central homepage with the other Muppets. It looks like she's already getting popular.

I bet BlueFrackle can't wait to get his hands on this. He has quite a collection of this stuff. Just see his website!

But if anything I hope that the Kami doll profits will go to

A) back to Sesame workshop (and not to fund that Dragon Tales stuff!)

B) AIDS research foundations.

And not just to whatever the heck toy company will make them.
