On September 14, 2006, DCM Daniel Russell welcomed Sesame Workshop VP for Distribution Terry Fitzpatrick, Russian and American members of the Ulitsa Sezam family, and Kubik the Muppet to a reception celebrating the 10th anniversary of Sesame Street in Russia and the debut of Ulitsa Sezam's fourth season. "Ulitsa Sezam has been successful because it combines Russian creativity and characters with the original concept of the program," he said. "At the same time, the objectives of Ulitsa Sezam remain the same as the original American show, namely to educate and entertain our children. Russians and Americans share the same belief that children are our most precious resource and place the same high value on education."
