So, I'm reading the manga for One Piece since I haven't watched the anime since, well... Middle school (character designs and Luffy being made of rubber kinda weirded me out), but um...

I can see @Old Thunder's point on the anime being a bit stretched. Sounds like half of the first season is just Luffy getting his crew together.

I mean.... It's anime. And it's a shohen jump anime. So I'm not surprised.
