Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Sara: Where did everybody go? *limping into the dorms, using her cane. She makes her way to her room, and reads the note on her door.*

"Dear Sara,

Ryan snagged most of us for the Awards Ceremony! Tried to contact you, but you had your phone off at work. Come as soon as possible! Can't wait to see you there!

Love, Scooter"

Sara: That little gofer! *tramps into her room, dressing in her kermit green ballgown, and grabs her special silver cane; heading out the door, and onto the Awards Ceremony.*

 

[Muppet Newsgirl]

(several hours earlier, around 5 PM)

Nora: (struggling with a silvery-black number) Hey, would somebody help me zip my dress up?
Storyteller: (peach and bronze) Dear, dear, somebody's eaten too much ice cream...uh, do I still have curlers in my hair?
Nora: It's not the ice cream, Storyteller...I just can't reach the darn zipper!
(MN emerges from room in dark blue silk number)
MN: Excuse, excuse. (zips Nora's dress up with one hand, tweaks the curler out of the Storyteller's hair with the other) We've got a table with the rest of the RHLC tonight.
Nora: Oh, no...I'm hardly ready...where are my shoes! (runs into room)
Storyteller: I need to touch up my makeup!
MN: And my hair's a wreck as usual, so what else is new? (does damage control with a hairbrush and clips hair back with barrettes) Let's move it!

(eventually, relatively presentable crowd departs for ceremony)

 

[The Count]

*Watching from table at the theater... Oooh, and now they're up to the fanfic awards!

Me: *drags self into bed* Nine...And a half...Hours of awards...I'm pooped...
Clifford: Heh, just as you should be dude! You worked hard tonight! Had lotsa fun.
Me: Thanks Cliff. Glad you had fun, I think everyone did.
Clifford: Yup! Now you get some sleep dude. Tomorrow's another day!
Me: Cliff...It IS tomorrow!

 

[Leyla]

<A very weary and discombobulated group return to room 18. Leyla is carrying the somewhat mangled Robot Kermit. She sets him down carefully as the ushy gushy girl curls up in her cage.>

Leyla: Wow... well that was really amazing, wasn't it everyone?

<general nods of agreement>

Leyla: Ryan was a great host!

Hilda: Was he ever!

Leyla: <giggles> I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh but I'm very tired... and we're gonna have to have a little girltalk about this, Hilda.

Wanda: I'm sick of girltalk. Goodnight! <the door to her bedroom closes a little too firmly.>

Jimmy: I hope she cheers up soon.

Leyla: Yeah... me too. Alright, well, my hammock is calling me softly and sweetly, so I'll be happy to bid you adieu!

Jimmy: You're poetic when you're sleepy.

Leyla: Insomnia is good for writing... but bad for brains.

Jimmy: I'm tuckered. Congrats on them awards you won. Goodnight!

<Leyla runs her fingers along the unexpected gifts. She smiles.>

Hilda: It was a lovely evening.

Leyla: It was. Goodnight Hilda, goodnight all.

 

[The Count]

*Returning to Room #1... That was a great award show...
Count: So many avards!
Yeah... And it was surprisingly well-run... A bit of nonsense when Snowthy got punch-drunk, literally... But not as bad as those threads/posts lately.
Count: And ve got 4, 4 far out avards!
Heh... We'll put those up in the trophy case... Though I'll have to ask Ryan what the awards are like. Eh, tomorrow.
Gotta get up early, the girls are headed over.
Count: Girls? Vhat girls?
Oh come on... You know... Beth's roomies will be staying with us this weekend.
Count: Ah yes, I remember that vell now.
Yeah... Anyway, let's get some sleep, gotta get up early to welcome them and to watch all of our Saturday shows.

*Both wash up and get dressed in night clothes for bed.

Bo: *arrives home* Ahh...here we are...
Beau: *arrives home* Ahh...oh...water everyplace.
Bobo: *arrives home* Aaaaah! A spider! A spider!
Bean: *with puppet spider* Isn't it cute?

Hoots: (observing from outside Ed's window) Don't forget about the letter B from Oscar's B sandwich! Great awards. I miss those guys. (starts playing sleepy Sesame theme)
