I remember a Muppet Show where a guest was singing a song that went something like this,

. . . drinking whiskey and chasing wild wild women will drive you crazy will drive you insane . . .

Did I already do too much of this or can anyone provide more details on the song and who sung it?

Yeah, i know that song, it's on the episode starring Peter Sellers, it was his closing number. But i do not know the original singer.
Hope this is a bit of help.

I was able to find the words to the song on the net!

A preachment, dear friends, you're about to receive,
on John Barleycorn, nicotine, and the temptations of Eve...

I once was happy and I had a good life
I had enough money to last me for life
I met with a gal and we went on a spree
She taught me to smoke and to drink whiskey.

Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.
Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.

Cigarettes is a blot on the whole human race.
A man is a monkey with one in his face.
That's my definition, believe me dear brother,
A fire on one end and a fool on the t'other.

Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.
Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.

Write on the cross at the head of my grave
To women and whiskey here lies a poor slave
Take warning dear stranger, take warning dear friend.
They'll write in big letters these words at my end.

Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.
Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.
They'll drive you crazy they'll drive you insane.
Hallelujah brother.

I would not be suprised if Seller's sang this outside of TMS since he was a singer as well as an actor.

Guys, question:

Down on the RHLC, we're looking for info on the song "It's in Every One of Us." The Muppets did that at Richard's funeral, and Amanda (AKA beakersbreakers...and R.H.'s niece) wants to know where she can find a copy.

Any of you guys know about it? I'm going to suppose that it was a Muppet song.

I just posted on the RHLC thread that the song was written by David Pomeranz, if that helps any.

Well, I found the lyrics for ya :sing: :

Music and Lyrics by: David Pomeranz
Album: Time (1985)

It's in every one of us to be wise
Find your heart
And open up both your eyes
We can all know every thing
Without ever knowing why
It's in every one of us by and by

It's in every one of us
Find your heart
And open up both your eyes
We can all know every thing
Without ever knowing why
It's in every one of us by and by

It's in every one of us
I just remembered
It's like I've been sleeping for years
I'm not awake as I can be
But my seeing's better
I can see through the tears
I've been realizing that
I bought this ticket
And watching only half of the show
But there's scenery and lights
And a cast of thousands
Who all know what I know
And it's good that it's so
It's in every one of us to be wise
Find your heart
And open up both your eyes
We can all know every thing
Without ever knowing why
It's in every one of us by and by
It's in every one of us by and by
