Disney Fans From Around the Globe Gathering to Celebrate Disneyland's 50th

Original Mousketeers, Muppets, Dick Cook and a Special Evening in Disneyland Highlight the 21st Summer Convention

May 28, 2005 - The NFFC – the club for Disney enthusiasts, will host its 21st summer convention with a special focus on Disneyland’s golden anniversary. Disney fans from all over the world are invited to the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Disneyland to celebrate July 9-13 with behind-the-scenes presentations, games, collectable info, sneak peeks and more.

The convention is open to all NFFC members with packages ranging from $50 - $274. The NFFC is open to Disney fans of all ages. Membership includes a monthly newsletter, the FantasyLine Express, and is only $24 per year. For more information on the NFFC or the convention, visit www.NFFC.org.

Some of the highlights of the upcoming convention include:

Mouseketeers who were a part of Disneyland’s opening day will be a part of the Celebration Banquet. Dance students of Mouseketeer Nancy Abbate will also recreate the Mouseketeer’s opening day performance.
Disney Parks and Resorts will host a special event inside Disneyland for conventioneers.

Hear about Disneyland’s early years from a panel of Club 55ers (those who worked at Disneyland on opening day). Among them are Bob Penfield who worked at Disneyland from 1955 – 1997 – the last original cast member to retire and Disney Legend Ron Dominguez.

***The Muppets will be on hand to share stories of their recent adventures and what they have planned for the future. They’ll also take questions from the audience.***

Dick Cook, Chairman of the Walt Disney Studios, will host a presentation of upcoming Disney films. Conventioneers will then be treated to an early screening of an upcoming Disney feature (with popcorn and soda!)

Disney Direct and Disney Television Animation will showcase upcoming products and events.

Thousands of fans will gather for the July 10th Show and Sale – the largest strictly-Disney collectable show in the world. Everything from pins to figurines to paper products and everything in between is available for buying or just browsing. Plus there are Disney personalities, book signings, opportunity drawings and more.

For the complete schedule of events including regular schedule updates, see www.NFFC.org/Convention.
