Hey, I was searching the web and found these diagrams. It's actually instructions on how to weave a puppet, but the method could be used to make a wig out of yarn by following the same simple instructions.

Thought it was useful.... The "next" and "previous" links wouldn't work though so I'm posting all html page links seperately. I think I'll try this on my next people puppet.

sorry about the generic links, but I had to manually add them since the link button on the menu above wouldn't work for some reason.

:excited: Thanks for posting those links. I just noticed a yarn store down the street from my office the other day. I'm just itching to get going on some more puppets, but haven't had alot of time. But they are never far from my mind. If you get a chance, click on the link below my signature, and tell me what you think. It's just a start.

Deb! Oh my gosh! Thats YOUR site? I've seen it before, and not from a link on the MC forum here, but I don't know where. Probably from my many sleepless nights of cruising the web with my puppet curiosity.... but I remember the site and I wondered what materials you use. I really like your people puppets..... thats what I make most too. Hey! I'd really like to chat, if you like, send me an e-mail and we can gossip like two school girls. :excited:

Thanks for posting that link - I've seen these types of puppets at art/craft shows before and it was interesting to see how they are made (I don't really know a thing about needlework, knitting or weaving - it's all very mystical/magical to me).

It's true you can adapt a lot of techniques from other artforms to puppet construction. I've found doll/teddy bear making books and Web sites are a great source of info.

Hey Michele, sent you an email. Yep thats mine! I just posted it a few days days ago, but I did have a different one a while back, with the same puppets for the most part. I just took an Illustrator class last semester and one of the assignments was a mock web page, so I just decided to mess around and come up with something different, without too much help from the Geocities page wizard. Glad you liked it.

I just spent a little time last nite playing with the "nip and tuck" method from the "Foam Book" and made half a dozen noses.(all i had time for). I bought 4 yards of 1/2" foam (it was 50% off) to play with. Can't wait till this weekend!
